Heroic Ideas — Choose 2 community item ideas to be made!

Hey heroes!

Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

You may recognize some returning item suggestions! Items can be renominated and re-drawn for weekly polls following a week-long cooldown.

Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!

Ideas

1) Enchantler — A chalky-white antler shed from a magical cervid that retains some magic. You can touch a nonmagical item with this antler, causing it to become magical for 1 hour. Alternatively, you can crush the antler into a fine powder and consume it, allowing you to randomly learn one cantrip from a class's spell list for 24 hours.

2) Spear of the Minotaur — The head of the spear features hooked horns to latch onto its targets. When you hit a target with a ranged attack with this weapon, you can expend a charge to immediately rush towards the target, dealing damage to anything in your path and the spear returns to your hand.

3) Solacesteel Stiletto — A purified dagger made from solacesteel that returns to your free hand after a ranged attack. The first time you deal damage on your turn, you create a holy mote that circles the blade, holding up to four motes. When you hit a creature with an attack, you can expend a mote to deal additional radiant damage and regain hit points equal to half the radiant damage dealt.

4) Static Greaves — A set of magical boots that crackle with energy. When you move at least X feet straight toward a creature and hit it with a melee attack, that creature takes extra lightning damage.

5) Linguaphage Bookworm — This old and desiccated husk of a paper eating insect can be placed on a book or document and have it consume it. Once consumed, the worm retains the information for up to one week, during which time you can consume the worm to gain literal meaning of all information it consumed and retain that information for up to 1 year.

6) Toymaker’s Chisel — This razor-sharp wood chisel has a curved edge and a smooth elmwood handle, doubling as both a dagger and a woodcarver's tools. During a short or long rest, you can use the chisel to carve a Tiny wooden object, such as a toy or figurine, and grants it a minor magical property such as appearance or sound.

7) Chipping Weapon — This rough and jagged weapon hurts sharply even when deflected by the strongest armor. When you make a melee attack against a creature with this weapon and miss the target's AC by 5 or less, the target takes 1d4 bludgeoning damage.
