Heroic Ideas — Choose 2 community item ideas to be made!

Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

Ideas

1) Redirectory — Reading this statically charged tome allows you to channel lightning damage, halving the damage you take and striking another nearby creature. Once read, the tome loses it's magic for a decade.

2) Calamity's Call — This torched and sundered crown brings ruin to all. You take no damage when you succeed a Dexterity saving throw and only half damage if you fail. The crown also allows you to cast disastrous spells like call lightning, fire storm, and insect plague. If a spell cast from the crown reduces a creature to 0 hit points, the crown regains a charge.

3) Narrator's Bookmark — This red leather bookmark has a rounded end and is creased in the middle. When placed inside an open book you can speak its command word, causing it to animate like a tongue, reading the book aloud in the language it was written and continues until it finishes the page.

4) Flying Guard — This crossguard resembles a pair of wings, and can be attached to a weapon over a short rest. A weapon with this crossguard attached gains the thrown property. If you attune to the crossguard, the throwing range is extended and you ca recall the weapon back to you, potentially hitting enemies in its path.

5) Helm of the Desert Queen — A helm of gauze that covers your eyes, but allows you to see through it unobstructed, as well as tolerate harsh desert conditions. You can use it to invoke a mummy's ire to inflict necrotic damage and prevent target from regaining hit points. Attuning to it can cause you to become undead and weaken you, unless you consume sufficent amounts of water.

6) Sliding Whistle — This slide whistle can be used as a instrument or a focus for Bards. When you cast a spell with it, you can move in a sliding motion. The higher the spell level, the longer distance you can slide.

7) Gemini Mirror Armor — An armor worn by those at sea, decorated with mirrors that form major constellations. While wearing the armor, you gain various benefits, such as adding your proficiency to handling water vehicles, drink salt water as if it was fresh, cast a limited version of mirror image, and know the status of anyone else wearing a Gemini mirror armor. However, you avoid your reflection and seeing it angers you, and become hostile towards anyone else attuned a Gemini mirror armor.
