Heroic Ideas — Choose 2 community item ideas to be made!

Hey heroes!

Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

You may recognize some returning item suggestions! Items can be renominated and re-drawn for weekly polls following a week-long cooldown.

Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!

Ideas

1) Starmetal Blowgun — A metal blowgun, forged from metals that fell from the sky. You gain a bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it and it deals extra piercing damage due to it's magnetic acceleration. The blowgun is loaded with a magnetized needle that is drawn back into the blowgun after every attack, ignoring the loading property. Once per turn, you can attempt to cause a creature hit by it to be outlined by an aurora-like light, as if by the faerie fire spell.

2) Tanklyosaur — This plate armor is modeled after an ancient megalizard with spikes running down the arms. All bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage is reduced by 1. In addition, if you grapple a creature or are grappled, the creature takes 1d4 piercing damage.

3) Riptide Greaves — These leather-bound greaves are each adorned with a single large green fin. While wearing them underwater you gain a swim speed, if you already have one it increases instead. Additionally, you can expend the greaves charges to cast a variety of spells from them.

4) Arcane Expulsion Munitions — This enchanted ammunition explodes in a magical concussive blast on impact. Creatures within the radius must make a Constitution saving throw or take force damage. Arrows fired from bows will have a larger radius of the explosion, while bolt fired from crossbows will deal more damage.

5) Shroud of the Unsanctified — This cloak is comprised of gauze and grants the wearer resistance to necrotic damage. In addition, you can grant temporary hit points to creatures that are unable to regain hit points, including undead.

6) Patron’s Bounty — An extravagant choker than can be modified to be worn as a amulet, granting you an additional spell slot and a bonus to spell attack rolls as a warlock. You, however, cannot speak your patron’s name, and attempting to do so will inflict damage to you and threaten your connection to your patron.

7) Backhanded Gloves — These gloves feel uncomfortable initially, but grant you advantage on Slight of Hand checks and saving throws to avoid being disarmed. Once attuned, the cursed gloves twist and crack your hands, rotating your thumbs to the bottom of your wrists like a rakshasa. As such, any Persuasion checks made after you shake someone's hand are made at disadvantage.
