I have been very busy and am pushing to finish this.
The Cameras are done for every scene. I completed the Camera Pass and adjusted all the animation along the way. There are still some small adjustments and tweaks to be made in Scene D, such as errant frames and simulation fixes, but they are minor.
I spent so , so much time on Scene F the past month. There were a lot of needed adjustments found as I went through the Camera Pass. So many, in fact, that I had to pass Scene F off to another animator, who is currently working on them. The camera for that scene is complete, though, and - other than this single factor that needs correction - it's looking wonderful and true to the vision.
The intimate time spent with Scene F really helped me shape a clear vision of what I wanted out of this episode. In that time, I envisioned the entire soundtrack and how I'd like everything to be paced out. After some setbacks with previous prospects, I amassed a small crew of musicians who reached out to me after I posted on social media. At this point, there is a full music production in progress for the episode that is set to finish the score before September's end. A good amount of the music for the episode is now already complete.
Things are looking positive. I'm working diligently and making great progress every day. However, I'm slightly behind where I wanted to be, and thought we'd be a little further by now. At this time, I still need to complete:
- Lighting
- Special Effects
The current default lighting setup looks promising, and the hdri maps do a lot of the heavy lifting, but I would prefer to get a 3D lighting consultant this time around. Lighting is a weak spot of mine and I can't have this part taking longer than it needs to. I put out a request on CGHero, and I'll hopefully get someone that can help the process, but regardless, I'm going to dive into lighting as soon as I finish the tweaks on Scene D. Whether or not I obtain the proper help, I'm pushing forward with the vision for the lighting I have in my head.
As for special effects - the path is very clear to me. I now know exactly what I need out of those. I have my checklist laid out there and I just have to do them and do them properly.
I am very glad I have the proper help from people right now. In a very short time, I went from a cloudy vision for what the music should be to having an airtight plan in motion. I'm also glad to have so many talented people on hand that can add the extra bit of polish to take this where I need it to be.
We should be at the very final stages next update. I'm planning on hitting that Fall release. Very Best Patrons:
