Alternate Thumbnails for Raven/Gwen.

First of all, I hope ya'll have had a happy Valentine's weekend!! I've been feeling a little under the weather the past week, and while I'm still not 100%, I'm feeling good enough lol! So! Let's get into it!

So I watched a ton of Teen Titans growing up! And I always thought Raven was the coolest! Her and Starfire are so pretty and young Wick wanted to be just like them! But when making this video, I also didn't want it to just be a copy of the Raven as seen in the show, so I went ahead and carved a new narrative!

That's a large part of the reason why I made the main POV The New Titan! When Raven is first introduced, a lot of her insecurities are based around her father and the origin of her powers, as well as her internal confidence. So I wanted my rendition to be a little more established in her role on the team, and act as both a confidante and mentor for the incoming hero. The Raven seen here is a little older, wiser, and prepared to help The New Titan find their footing.

It's funny, as soon as I made this video, I saw a ton of comments asking for both another Raven vid as well as videos depicting Starfire. While I did get around to making another Raven vid, Starfire's kind of a tricky one due to her orange skin, so I've intentionally held off on that until I either get better at makeup or find a way to edit in post so it doesn't look silly.

I actually had no issue doing her sister, Blackfire, so idk! I'll keep thinking about that one! I didn't initially plan for this to be a series, but I can't deny I really like working in the Titans universe! Although it's DC, the scope is much smaller and it's a lot easier to form a narrative when the stakes are so low!

This is the second Gwen video I've done, and a lot of it was based on the concept of expectations others put on us, as well as the one's we put on ourselves.

"With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility."

Expectation is a common theme that comes up in my videos. No matter where you're at in life, it's a universal feeling that living up to one's expectations, whether it be your parents, family, or friends, can be hard to do.

And at the end of the day, it comes down to the Ultimate question:

What are your own expectations for yourself?

This video has Gwen venting out her feelings and frustrations with Spider-Man (Miles), and while it wasn't based on a particular scene, I think it really hits at the core of what Gwen is going through in the Spider-verse movies.

Gwen's young, and as a teenager, she's still figuring out what she wants out of life. Not that that question every really ends, as it turns out! But she still has the support of Miles, and who better to understand her than a fellow Spider-person!!
