Alternate Thumbnails for Wookie/Goth Girl
Added 2024-07-30 05:00:03 +0000 UTCI've had the Wookie idea for a couple of months now and for this video I decided to finally get it done. I think the idea of a Wookie going to get a haircut at a regular barbershop is hilarious and I was really happy with how this one came out. Another idea I had for this type of video was The Mandalorian and Grogu coming in to get a haircut, but Mando refuses to take his helmet off and Grogu has like three hairs on his head and a ton in his ears. Might do this one in the future!
So I have a lot of characters I do on this channel, but Goth Girl is definitely a favorite of mine. Going all the way back to the beginning of the Goth Girl vids, this was the first character I wanted to do more with past a one-off. She's become pretty darn important as time has gone on and she's flexible enough to go to and fro through multiple series. Since she strikes me as the kind of person that's constantly reading, whether it be romance novels or fan-fics, I thought this would be a good opportunity for her to start a book club! If you haven't noticed already, I'm a huge fan of rain sounds and the thought of doing a video of her reading in the cozy cafe while it rains in the background felt right! This thumbnail was from a trigger I had planned to do during the video but forgot until after the camera had stopped rolling. That happens more often than I care to admit!

I can completely believe that. Writers often claim they do not write stories from the beginning till the end, but are led by the characters they created. Maybe actors do this too some extent. Regarding the writers though, I remember very well my disillusionment when I learnt that they write to earn money, not because of some romantic elan toward art. Luckily now I'm wiser than I used to be and I never ask why people create yt videos.

2024-08-01 20:01:57 +0000 UTCGeneral idea and go from there. These are also heavily edited and I firmly believe great stories can be created in post as long as the foundation itself is solid. And especially with a character like Goth Girl who has had so many videos dedicated to her, from my point of view it feels like she just shows up and does her thing. The characters in my videos create the world around them rather than me creating the world beforehand and sticking them in there. It’s always felt more natural that way.

Do you use some sort of a script for each video or just have a general idea and all the stories sort of unveil themselves during the recording? Mentioning a book club gave me a vague feeling of nostalgia since I never belonged to one and I actually wish I did. Btw the amount of attention you pay to the details is stunning, you really outdid yourself with the hairdresser's makeup and goth girl's hair clips are a nice touch to the overall look.
