Deep Dive Topic: Faerun!

In this month’s Deep Dive, I’m going to go through Heroes of Faerun and explain how I’d work these things into an Eberron campaign. If I get stuck, well, I know a guy who knows a thing or two about Faerun… The Deep Dive will be live at 10 AM Pacific Time on Saturday, November 15th. I've used Bladesingers and Knowledge clerics in my Eberron campaign for years, and I'm glad we've got official 2024 stats on those now. I was disappointed with most of the content in the Faerun books as it seems very niche or else campaign specific. I'm looking forward to seeing your take on it, Keith, so maybe I can add more to my games than just two subclasses and four feats. (Btw, WotC missed a golden opportunity in feats... Cold Caster is decent, but where's Fire Magic? Storm Magic? ... had to homebrew them. Just seems like natural progression.)

What I’m looking to explore is how I’d take the MECHANICS introduced in the books and adapt them to Eberron. So I’m not going to add actual Purple Dragon Knights, but I’ll tell you how I’d use their mechanics.

2025-11-06 03:07:37 +0000 UTCThe Purple Dragon Knight as a particularly dedicated knightly order seems like it could slot in anywhere in the Five Nations, BUT are there mechanics in Heroes of Faerun that would make you pick one over the others to put it in, and if so, how do citizens of the other Five Nations think of the knightly order?
