Medical Issue Update

According to the MRI results, the abscess and inflammation were worse than I thought. Antibiotic treatment has started. In the meantime, my doctor decided that surgery would be the absolute last resort. So he decided to do it the old-fashioned way: incision and drainage. I don’t have to go through big surgery like last year, which is good.

However…there are some downsides to this.

Even though they give me local anesthesia, it is still horribly painful. They make an incision at the inflamed part, put inside a suction tube to drain out all the pus, shoot a saline solution inside, and then stuff the inside with gauze to clean the remaining gross stuff.

...and I have to do this EVERY DAY until I fully recover, which will take at least several weeks.

I already went through these procedures yesterday and today. It was the most painful experience of my life; it was like torture. Three nurses had to grab my body to prevent me from falling to the ground. My facial mask was completely soaked with my tears, sweat, saliva, and blood from the neck. I was screaming so loud that even the doctors were worried and took pity on me. I couldn’t walk after the procedure because I lost all energy, so I had to use a wheelchair to return to the ward.

Doctors said that the pain will gradually go away because the inflammation will get better, but still, it’s a long process. I really, really hope that all this pain will pay off with a speedy recovery, but everything is unclear at this point…
