Mighty god Huehuecoyotl is wielding his most potent weapon!
=====
Huehuecoyotl is the Nahua god of music, dance, mischief, and song. He is the patron of uninhibited sexuality. His appearance here is primarily based on Codex Borgia. He is holding a gourd rattle (ayacachtli) on his left hand. On the original image he is wearing a loincloth (maxtlatl) under his hip-cloth (tzinipilli), but here I omitted the loincloth because of obvious reason.
On the background there are other musical instruments such as slit drum (teponaztli), upright drum (huehuetl) and flute (huilacapitztli). Teponaztli is based on pre-Hispanic one from Malinalco, huehuetl is based on Codex Florentine, and huilacapitztli is based on the surviving pottery flute at Museo Nacional de Antropología.
The geometric band on the wall is based on murals from Templo Mayor of Tenochtitlan (Construction Stage II). The obscene murals are based on various codices (Codex Borgia, Fejérváry-Mayer, Laud, Magliabechiano, Borbonicus). Of course, the original codices are not as explicit as my version, but there are intriguingly sexual images here and there. The goddess having sex with Huehuecoyotl in the mural is Tlazolteotl, deity of sexuality, purification, lust, and filth. Because both deities are associated with sexuality, I thought they would go well together.
