This set of 18 photos is from my first shoot with St. Merrique, back when I was still early in my journey working with models. It was a boudoir workshop—tiny room, five other photographers, and a lot of learning on the fly.
Workshops like this were how I got comfortable directing, finding angles in less-than-ideal spaces, and figuring out how to work with available light. Looking back, I can see how much I’ve grown, but I still love the rawness of these images. St. Merrique was incredible to work with even then, and this shoot pushed me forward in ways I didn’t realize at the time.
