I've seen vids on social media of young Gen Zs being confused by them lmao The satanism thing is basically the very popular 80s mass hysteria aka Satanic panic that spread from the US all over the world. One incredibly dodgy book about "satanic ritual abuse" started it all and suddenly "OMG the Satanists did it!" became the favourite starting point of any investigation lol
