Some movie references in this episode: the hilarious scene when Jesse and Walter are whispering their plans while fake-shopping is a direct reference to a classic '40s noir film named "Double Indemnity," in which the two lead criminals do exactly the same thing in a store. (Because they are characters in a '40s noir movie, they just look way cooler while doing it.)
When the homeless man addresses Pinkman as "Captain America," it is not (exactly) a reference to Marvel Comics. It's a reference to a classic hippie flick from the late '60s named "Easy Rider" (in which the main character likes to be referred to by that nickname), the most successful movie ever made about--- motorcycle riders.
This episode's "Buffy" tie-in: the actor who plays the tobacco-chewin' owner of the junk lot, Tom Kiesche, played a vampire whom B quickly dispenses with ("My leg!") at the beginning of the season 5 send-off "The Gift."

Skyler is such an icon I love her. also I've already gotten tired of the "doing it for my family" excuse from Walt when his old friends offered him the money and a job so he wouldn't even have to accept "charity" and would've been able to earn it himself. it's just a really extreme mid-life (end of life?) crisis
