Game of Thrones 4x1 - full reaction

You may remember Pedro from Buffy. He was Eddie, the first friend Buffy made at college before he was vamped by Sundays crew.

The opening scene almost always confuses reactors. Or at least as far as whose sword it is. Don't they show the sword in the "previously on GOT" thing? I pretty sure they show it prominently and linger on it, right after it has taken Ned's head off. But then again, most viewers probably don't realize that Ned was behead with his own sword. It's not a terribly important detail, more of book fans I guess.

Speaking of Pedro Pascal, the trailer to The Last Of Us Season 2 is on youtube now.😊

The "chicken scene" with Arya and The Hound is one of my favorites of the entire series. The Hound is such a bad-ass, and Arya waits so patiently before she strikes. So good!

The opening scene has a very interesting musical bit going on btw.: if you listen closely then you'll hear the Stark theme (just called "Stark Theme") playing for the first 30ish seconds as the camera moves across Neds Sword "Ice" before it slowly gets overtaken by the instrumental version of the Lannister Theme "The Rains of Castamere", which fully kicks in once Tywin steps into the light! It might actually be helpful to listen to just "The Rains of Castamere" on your own a couple of times btw., since the song is all over the show but it's one of those things you easily miss on a first watch unless you develop an ear for the song - for a couple of examples of scenes up until now where the song was used/referenced: 1.) Right before Catelyn captures Tyrion a Bard offers to sing it for Tyrion and he refuses 2.) Bronn is singing it with a room full of Lannister soldiers right before the Battle of Blackwater Bay in 2x9 3.) Cersei threatens Margaery in 3x8 with the story behind the song (Tywin in his youth basically murdered the entirety of House Reyne, who also had a lion for a sigil and was the second most powerful House after the Lannisters, by having their mostly underground bunker of a keep called "Castamere" flooded by diverting an entire river into it) 4.) In 3x9, right before Walder Frey gives the speech during which he has Robb, Cat and Lysa killed, one of Walders sons closes the door and suddenly the musicians all simultaneously start playing "The Rains of Castamere" as the first clue that something is wrong 5.) the aforementioned bit in the opening of this episode 6.) the Lannister soldiers in the brothel are singing it, which is why Oberyn immediately knows which house they serve just by hearing that song

In the opening scene, with Tywin having the Stark ancestral sword melted down, the music is a variation of The Rains of Castamere. And the thing he threw in the fire was the scabbard. It wasn't exactly Rob's sword btw, although it should've been. It was Ned's, and Rob never got it after Ned was executed.

Pedro was unknown when this aired so its crazy to see how far he has come. Probably the biggest star that has come out of GOT BTW when jamie asks brienne if there related, remember he has a thing for his sister. Confirmation that he's attracted to brienne?? I feel like it was more of a compliment.

- Janos Slynt is indeed the baby killer, but even more importantly, he was responsible for Ned Stark's death. He was the commander of the City Watch who got bribed to arrest Ned. Perhaps you remember Tyrion banishing him to the Night's Watch, that's why he's there. - Unfortunately, actor changes can sometimes happen in TV shows, especially with such a huge cast as Game of Thrones had. We've already seen actor changes for the Mountain, Beric Dondarrion, Rickard Karstark, and now Daario Naharis. The explanation was that Ed Skrein got a role in a Transporter movie, which he really did, but later the actor said there were "political reasons" behind him leaving the show.
