This is one of my fav one off episodes. Something about it....Buffy's speech to Jonathan is just 🥰 I love her so much x

2021-08-23 17:48:52 +0000 UTCThe insights in to the characters is great. The only one we get no personal information from is Giles (well, other than Angel but he was cheating ;) ). I'm guessing he's had more practice at controlling his thoughts or something like that. I swear he was about to think about Joyce after Xander rushed out of the library. It was fairly obvious what Xander was thinking about (and let's face it, it's not a surprise :D) and then suddenly Giles looks a little anxious and hurries up the stairs. There's also a short shot of Buffy's eyes following him, which wasn't really necessary except perhaps to draw attention to this. Anyway, total speculation, but I think it's highly likely that it's the ONE thing he doesn't want to think about lol Apparently the walking in to a tree bit was ASH improvising on the day. It's certainly not in the script. Cordelia is SO great in this, she really is a straight talking gal :D Oz is great although I would also have liked it if he was just humming tunelessly over and over or thinking something really dumb, it would be quite a surprise :D This is one of those episodes, hysterically funny at times and then heart breaking at others, something that Buffy does SO well.
