UPDATE 17/12/2018

Hey folks, hope you're all well and enjoying the holiday season.

Starting off with bad news there will unfortunately be no megamix this year, I've spent some time trying to make it happen but I just didn't make enough material this year to really make anything that compares with the previous years megamixes. My plan at this stage is to make a kind of 2018/2019 megamix but I'll figure something out depending on my output next year.

Going into 2019 I'm going to be taking a bit of a break from remixes, I'm not quite sure how long for so I won't make any promises but I'm going to take at least a few months off.
I have changed my Patreon payout to "per creation" so you won't be charged at all over this period.

There are several reasons for this but it mostly comes down to two major factors, the first being that I'm getting quite burned out. I spend the vast majority of my music making/creative time working on these tracks and while I still very much enjoy doing them I'd like to spend some time on other projects and make them more of a priority. This burnout has been kind of compounded by my change to monthly Patreon payouts back in 2015, I originally figured this would motivate me but as my remixing process has become more in-depth it has mostly been a source of guilt and stress for not delivering more tracks at a faster rate. I'm really proud of my work this year, more so than any other year and I'd really like to continue that standard. Going forwards I'm going to be leaving my payout preferences on "per creation" so I can work on remixes at my own pace and charge you guys what I think is reasonable.

I'm going to be working on (and hopefully releasing) several musical projects over the next few months so I fully understand if you'd like to change or remove your pledge over this period. Know I will only ever charge you for releasing a game remix, this Patreon was made to support my video game remixes and that will not change.

Reason number two is a lot simpler, my game backlog is out of control. I'd really like to spend some time trying out old and new games that interest me, see if they're remix-able and get some inspiration for tracks. As of right now I have nothing lined up and no idea what I want to do next so I'd really like to make a bit of a shortlist and line up a few games to work on next year.

With all that said I really want to thank you all again for your patronage this year, I appreciate you putting up with my radio silence over the months and am still humbled by your kind words and support. I hope you all have a great holiday season and I'll see you in 2019!

TLDR: I'm going to be taking a break for a few months going into 2019, there will be no megamix this year due to a lack of material. You will not be charged until I return next year with a new remix.

Comments

Just discovered your Transistor remix and jumped into donating immediately. I really hope that you enjoy your time away from stress and manage to explore and draw alot of new material from diverse franchises. I'll be here waiting, confident you're up to the task.

I'll be here 100%, fam. Been listening to your music since 2015, and it's to this day still some of my favorite remixes out there. (Bloodborne, DarkSouls, Last of us, Your old remix that ypu made using the ps3/wii/360 sounds are some of my tops) You make great music, man. You have tallent and I want to support that. I would still pledge this buck every month even if you didn't launch anything tbqh with you. Keep your chin up, friend. If you fell this is the right move, I, and many others know you're gonna do great. Try not to stress about it, or feel guilty about anything.
