I don't know if you go back to old episodes to read comments but in case you do...
I don't tend to comment on this scene at the time because it sets up stuff in Passion IMO. I'm talking about the painful scene when they bump in to Jenny. I just think it's such a telling scene. You have Giles on one side, Jenny on the other and Buffy in the middle. There's also Xander, who spends the entire scene staring daggers at Jenny and is clearly on Buffy's side, and Willow who just looks really sad when she looks at either Giles or Jenny.
Jenny is obviously getting a bit frustrated that Giles won't talk to her but Giles, oh Giles. He looks so happy to see her initially, he gets that soft look he only ever really gets with her. But then he remembers that that's not where they are in the relationship right now so he has to look away and call her Ms Calendar and he's all sad and clearing his throat :(. All the while Buffy is glaring and Giles is IMO obviously wanting to talk to Jenny. It even says in the script that when he walks away there is no small amount of sorrow :'(
And then at the end Buffy literally walks between them making it quite clear what she thinks of it all.
I generally don't mention it before people get to Passion because to me it goes with the fact that the MOMENT Jenny tells Giles that Buffy said he missed her it is clear that he wants to talk to her and try to make this work again because I really think it's been a while since he blamed her. In fact, even in Innocence, when he says 'she said get out' the script says 'it is said without joy or anger it is simply a decision'. I'm not saying that he never felt hurt or betrayed but I think he forgave her long ago and is just waiting for Buffy to come around :'(
In fact, if you look at everything he says to Jenny after he finds out what she's been doing he never says anything to indicate that HE blames her, he says things like 'SHE said get out' and 'I'm not the one you need to make it up to' and 'I need to talk to Buffy' not 'get out' or 'I don't want to talk to you'. Because none of those statements would be true.
And there's the bit with Willow. My head canon is that she's tried talking to Buffy about forgiving Jenny but has been told in no uncertain terms that this is not an option, and this is why Willow is so defensive and jumpy when Buffy finds her talking to Jenny in the classroom. I mean, she acts super guilty despite the fact that it's been 5 weeks or so. This all fits with Willow looking really sad in this episode.
Anyway, those are my sad Jenny thoughts for this episode :)
