The cooler colors match the tone of the show better, so my mind immediately went to s3 Billy waiting for Steve in the mall parking lot (after possibly breaking into his car). The second evokes the mental image of Billy waiting for Steve to come back out of a rest stop or gas station while on a road trip out west.
