WHAT LIES AHEAD
When I visited Erna in her new Los Angeles apartment two months ago, we had no plans. We never really do, actually. I just arrange a time to stop by, we sit inside for a few moments, then she puts on some random piece of clothing and I start to take photos as she peels the clothing off.
This may sound odd and mundane, but it’s surprisingly easy and fun. She and I always have something to talk about, some new gossip to share, some new story to regale each other with. On this day I think we talked about creepy photographers we’ve met and real stories from first-hand accounts from people we know.
The bathroom at this time of day was perfect, and with the angling of her medicine cabinet mirror in just the proper way, the natural, reflected lighting on her was simply perfect. I crammed myself into her tiny shower for half of these images, and yet somehow we were able to capture try magic. What do you think of these??
