Aila's Ramblings - 1/20/22

Okay, guys, wish me luck!  This weekend, I've planned a escape room/treasure hunt for one of my best friend's kid's birthday.  It's my first time coming up with such a thing and I got my brother and friends to help with ideas, but I will be the 'host/guide', so I'm kind of nervous that there 1 - aren't enough puzzles to figure out and 2 - the final (fake) coin I have to hide at a neighborhood park will be stolen or lost before he can get to it. (-_-;;;)

When I  proposed the idea to my friend, we just called it an 'escape room' and I thought it was a bit much for a homemade one, but now my friend is in this sort of silent competition with her son's friend's mother, who also had an escape room for her kid's bday after telling my friend she was doing something else AND saying she wanted to join the one we were doing.  (I heard these things happened, but I think this is my first time actually seeing it.)

Anyway, on to the TIERS:

I had forgotten to post the tier change notice until someone reminded me.  The reason for the additional tier was because I felt I finally had enough of a backlog to comfortably have more chapters as benefits.  I know that initially, I didn't have any, but I don't feel comfortable accepting more than thanks without something extra in return.  

It's the reason I had  at least tried to keep everyone ahead by one chapter as thanks for the support when I only had one tier.  I'm super happy I was able to post more (with the backlog!) 

As of right now, I'm 10 chapters ahead of the existing 6 additional chapters here.  I had considered adding a 3rd tier, but I don't have enough chapters to do so comfortably and it seems like a lot of work.  And the reason I thought of three tiers was because that seems to be the standard on Patreon.  

I also considered a 3rd tier, but in the opposite direction.  The OG support tier for like $2 or $3.  I feel it would be less work for me and still show my thanks for support.  

I also realized that there is no way for me to schedule when a chapter will be released once it has been released to another tier, so I have to manually check off the box to unlock a chapter to another tier.  I will be doing so a little before midnight PST and I will try to check the "notify patron" button - so everyone may end up with a notification.  

I hope this doesn't cause too much confusion, but no notifications were sent when I only released a chapter to another tier.  

Also, if you receive a notification well before midnight PST, it's probably because I was falling asleep and needed to do it before I was out.  I try hard to be consistent, but I also love sleep.
