Aila's Ramblings - 12/06/21
Added 2021-12-06 08:05:01 +0000 UTCAs we're approaching chapter 50 (slowly, but surely), I'm figuring out my plans to take a break for two weeks. I figure after 3 months of writing 5k-6k words almost daily, I should take some time to relax and clear my head. Maybe do some planning or activities outside of writing Tori and...write other stuff.
From where I am with finished draft chapters, I estimate that chapter 50 will be around New Years (surprisingly convenient!) and should be around the time when Tori's on summer break and exploring the western region, Anlar, with her brother and cousin before her other cousin's succession ceremony.
I will try not to make it a cliffhanger. TRY.
While the chapters on Royal Road will pause for the first two weeks of January (1 to 15), I will post one additional chapter per week HERE during that period of time. This should bring you guys up to three chapters ahead.
And while they're technically completed chapters, that is, not a draft, I do often go back and do edits if you guys tell me the readability or something is really off (like that time I wrote Piers instead of Gideon) before I post the chapter on Royal Road.
Things I'd Like to Do While on Break:
- Play with the map software I bought to try to make a map of the Soleil Empire and Tori's yet-to-be-named delta village. (Well, it has a name, it just hasn't been mentioned yet.)
- Draft an unrelated short story for the Mid-Autumn Festival (which is in October).
- Draw things.

Please enjoy your time off and avoid the burn out from your incredible pace. You have earned it and more.
