The last difference is a version that I dare to show off.
This was my first time underwater, so I had to learn a little.
I just read a book on illustration that I had bought before, but hadn't read yet.
It's mainly the bubbles. There are many ways of expressing the bubbles, but the common way is to use dark and light shadows, and deform the reflected background to draw them in.
For the underwater expression, I darkened and bluish the image, added water light and shadows, adjusted the color with overlay, and adjusted the contrast with color correction.
I also tried the glow effect, and while it certainly gives the image a cartoon-like look, I felt that it only brightened and blurred the image a bit, or at least gave it a different feel. I'm aiming for a cartoon-like two-dimensional expression, but simply making it glow and blur is not what I'm aiming for.
I tried it a few years ago, and it felt different then too.
Also, the glow effect can be quite a hassle if there is a difference.
Maybe it can be used in some ways. Maybe it could be used for a part of the character or for the background...
