Godfather System C153 Secret
Added 2024-09-13 15:26:30 +0000 UTCAfter weeks of meticulous investigation, Lorenzo's high-ranking men finally uncovered the identity of the mastermind behind the assassination attempt on Lorenzo's family.
Adam burst into Lorenzo's study. "Boss, we've got him."
Lorenzo looked up from his desk, his eyes glinting with anticipation. "Who is it?"
Adam took a deep breath before revealing, "It's General Maxwell Hawthorne, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff."
Lorenzo's eyebrows shot up in surprise. General Hawthorne was a decorated war hero and one of the most powerful military figures in the country, second only to the President in matters of national defense.
Richard, who had followed Adam into the room, added, "He's got connections everywhere, boss. Army, Navy, Air Force - he's got his fingers in every pie. And word is, he's got political ambitions too."
Lorenzo leaned back in his chair, processing this information. "A military man with that much power... This complicates things."
Max, who had been quietly observing, spoke up. "Boss, taking on someone like Hawthorne... it's not going to be easy. He's got the resources of the entire U.S. military at his disposal."
Lorenzo's lips curled into a cold smile. "Maybe so, Max. But we have something he doesn't." He pulled out the deck of tarot cards, running his fingers over their ornate designs. "We have fate on our side."
He spread three cards on his desk: Death, The Tower, and Judgment. "It's time we introduced General Hawthorne to the power of destiny."
Adam furrowed his brow, voicing the concern on everyone's mind. "But boss, how can you give the card to Hawthorne? He's not exactly the type to meet with strangers."
Lorenzo looked thoughtful, his fingers tracing the edges of the cards. "We won't give it to him directly. We'll use someone close to Hawthorne, someone he trusts. They'll deliver the tarot card for us."
Max nodded, his eyes lighting up with an idea. "I think I have some people in mind who could do it, boss. There's a sergeant in Hawthorne's personal staff who owes me a favor."
Lorenzo smiled, pleased with Max's initiative. "That's good, Max. This mission is yours." He picked up the Death card and held it out to Max.
As Max reached for the card, Lorenzo noticed a flicker of fear in his eyes. Max's hand trembled slightly as he took the card, and Lorenzo could see the unease on the faces of Adam and Richard as well.
Lorenzo's smile softened, understanding their apprehension. "Don't worry, Max. The card won't harm you. It's not... targeting you." He paused, considering how to explain it in simpler terms. "Think of it as a key. It only unlocks the door it's meant for. In your hands, it's just paper and ink."
Max nodded, visibly relieved, but Lorenzo could see the doubt lingering in his eyes. He knew what they were thinking - had their boss made a deal with the devil?
As Max tucked the card away and the men filed out of the room to begin preparations, Lorenzo could sense their unspoken questions. He knew they were loyal, but this brush with the supernatural was testing the limits of their understanding.

Lorenzo settled into his chair at the dining table, his wives gathered around him. After the meal, Deborah broke the silence with a chuckle. "Are you finally ready to reveal your secret?"
Lorenzo smiled, a mix of relief and apprehension in his eyes. "Yes. I've been thinking about it for a few days now, so I'll reveal it."
His wives leaned in, their eyes fixed on him as he took a deep breath. "I actually have supernatural abilities, and I think I also age slowly." He decided to keep the existence of the System to himself for now.
Their eyes widened in shock. Apollonia was the first to speak, her voice barely above a whisper. "Really?"
Mica's face clouded with worry. "Would that mean that you'll grow old looking young while we look old?" The same concern was reflected in the eyes of all his wives.
Deborah frowned, her voice tinged with a mix of curiosity and concern. "Is that why you don't look to be aging at all? What about when we grow old? Will we get old while you stay young?"
Lorenzo chuckled, reaching out to take Deborah's hand. "No, of course not. You, my loves, have actually inherited my abilities."
"Wait, how?" Apollonia asked, her shock evident in her voice.
Lorenzo squeezed Deborah's hand gently. "It's... complicated. But when we married, when we... joined together, my abilities were shared with you. You won't age like normal people either."
The women exchanged glances, a mix of relief and disbelief on their faces.
Mica leaned forward, her eyes narrowing. "Is this why you've always been so... extraordinary? The things you can do, the way you always seem to be one step ahead?"
Lorenzo nodded slowly. "Yes, that's part of it. My abilities give me certain advantages, but I've always relied on my own skills and intelligence too."
Deborah, her eyes wide with wonder, pressed further. "Lorenzo, how did you get such power?"
Lorenzo's expression grew complicated, memories of the past clouding his eyes. "It was actually during the war," he said quietly.
"War?" Apollonia echoed, her voice barely above a whisper.
Lorenzo nodded, his gaze distant. "While in combat, I was severely injured. Then, through some mysterious occurrence, I not only healed but felt more powerful than ever before."
The women exchanged glances, trying to process this information. Deborah, always quick with a quip, broke the tension with a joke. "So you're saying you're like a comic book character?"
Lorenzo chuckled, grateful for the moment of levity. "Not exactly, but I suppose there are some similarities."
Apollonia reached out, taking Lorenzo's hand. "This is... a lot to take in, amore. But it explains so much."
Mica nodded in agreement. "The way you always seemed to know things, how you could do things others couldn't... it all makes sense now."
Deborah, her initial shock fading, leaned in with curiosity burning in her eyes. "Can you show us? These abilities of yours?"
Lorenzo hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "I suppose a small demonstration wouldn't hurt."
Lorenzo gathered his wives close, their bodies pressed together in a tight embrace. With a smile, he activated his {Upside Down} skill, and suddenly they were enveloped in the shadow world.
The women's eyes widened in shock as they took in their new surroundings. The familiar contours of their home were still visible, but everything was cast in shades of gray and black, with an eerie, otherworldly quality to it.
Deborah was the first to speak, her voice a mixture of awe and trepidation. "What is this place?"
Apollonia clung tighter to Lorenzo, her voice trembling slightly. "It is... scary. Everything looks so dark and strange."
Mica, always the adventurous one, had a different reaction. Her eyes sparkled with excitement as she looked around. "I kind of like it. It's mysterious and beautiful in its own way."
Lorenzo chuckled at their varied reactions. "This is what I call the shadow realm. It's a parallel world that I can access. Here, we can move unseen and unheard by those in the regular world."
Deborah reached out to touch a nearby object, her hand passing through it like smoke. "It's incredible. We can see everything, but we can't interact with it?"
Lorenzo nodded. "Exactly. We're like ghosts here. You guys can observe, but not interfere directly. But me? I can touch things if I want to."
Lorenzo demonstrated his ability to interact with objects in the shadow world, his hands effortlessly manipulating items that appeared intangible to his wives. Their eyes widened in amazement as they watched him move things that seemed ghostly to their touch.
"How is that possible?" Mica asked, her voice filled with awe.
Lorenzo smiled, setting the vase back down. "It's part of my ability."
"How long can we stay here?" Apollonia asked, her voice filled with wonder.
Lorenzo smiled, pleased by their curiosity. "I can stay for about a few days, but there are limits to how far we can go."
Deborah's eyes lit up with excitement. "Can we do it too?" she asked, echoed by nods from Mica and Apollonia.
Lorenzo's smile widened. "Now that you're aware of it and I'll teach you, maybe you can. But you'll start at a low level, of course."
His wives looked thrilled at the prospect. This was far beyond the martial arts and shooting skills they had been learning. This was something entirely different, something extraordinary.
Mica clasped her hands together, her eyes shining. "Oh, Lorenzo! This is amazing. When can we start learning?"
Apollonia, usually more reserved, couldn't contain her enthusiasm. "I never imagined something like this was possible. It's like magic!"
Deborah, always quick to think practically, was already considering the implications. "Think of how useful this could be for our... business endeavors."
Lorenzo chuckled at their excitement. "Easy now, ladies. This isn't something you can master overnight. It takes time, practice, and a lot of focus. But I promise, I'll teach you everything I know."
As they continued to explore the shadow realm, asking questions and marveling at every new discovery, Lorenzo felt a warmth spreading through his chest. Sharing this part of himself with his wives, seeing their enthusiasm and acceptance, made him feel closer to them than ever before.
He knew that this revelation would change their relationship dynamics, potentially even the way they operated in their business world. But as he watched his wives' eyes light up with each new revelation, he knew he had made the right decision in trusting them with his secret.
"Alright, my loves," Lorenzo said after a while, "it's time we returned to our world. Remember, this stays between us. Our safety depends on keeping this ability secret."
His wives nodded solemnly, understanding the gravity of the situation. As they prepared to leave the shadow realm, each of them took a moment to embrace Lorenzo, silently expressing their love and gratitude for his trust in them.
