K-Producer C58 Collab potential

Byul-ho leaned back in his chair, absorbing the information Han Yun had just presented about Butterfly Agency. He tapped his fingers thoughtfully on the armrest, his brow furrowed in concentration.

"So, they've been around for three years," he mused aloud. "And they've got three groups - Cool Girls, Devil Beauties, and Nice Guys."

Han Yun nodded, flipping through her notes. "Yes, sir. Cool Girls debuted about a year after the company's founding. They had a brief moment in the spotlight but couldn't maintain it. Devil Beauties followed a few months later with similar results."

Byul-ho's eyes narrowed slightly. "And Nice Guys? How are they faring?"

"Not well, I'm afraid," Han Yun replied. "They're struggling to make an impact in an already crowded market."

"Three years, three groups, and no sustained success," he muttered. "They're desperate for a breakthrough."

He turned back to Han Yun. "What about their financial situation?"

Han Yun hesitated before answering. "It's... not great, sir. They've been operating at a loss for the past year. There are rumors that their main investor is considering pulling out."

Byul-ho leaned back in his chair, his brow furrowed. "The main investor... do we know who that is?"

"Yes, sir," Han Yun replied. "It appears to be the father of the CEO, Wan Jin-ae. He's the chairman of a large shipping conglomerate."

Byul-ho leaned back in his chair, his fingers steepled under his chin. "I see. Do you have the USB with the videos of their groups' performances?"

Han Yun nodded, quickly producing a small flash drive from her tablet case. "Yes, sir. It's all here."

"Thank you, Han Yun-ssi," Byul-ho said, taking the USB. "That will be all for now."

As Han Yun left the office, Byul-ho plugged the USB into his computer and began watching the performances of Butterfly Agency's groups. His brow furrowed as he observed their routines, costumes, and overall concepts.

"They're just... following trends," he murmured to himself, shaking his head slightly. "No innovation, no unique flavor. It's all been done before."

He paused the video, leaning back in his chair and closing his eyes for a moment. The company's approach was uninspired, but there was potential there. Raw talent that, with the right guidance, could be molded into something special.

Opening his eyes, Byul-ho pulled up the financial information Han Yun had provided. Despite the poor performance, he noticed the significant backing from a large conglomerate - Jin-ae's father's company.

"Interesting," he mused. "They have the resources, just not the vision."

Byul-ho drummed his fingers on his desk, weighing the pros and cons.

After a few moments of contemplation, he reached for his phone. "Han Yun-ssi," he said when she answered, "set up that meeting with Butterfly Agency. I think it's worth hearing what they have to say."

The next day, Byul-ho stepped out of his car in front of the Lotte Hotel Seoul. He straightened his tie and made his way through the opulent lobby to the hotel's high-end restaurant, The Peninsula.

"I have a reservation under the name Wan Jin-ae," he told the maître d', who nodded and led him to a secluded table near the back of the restaurant.

As he approached, he saw a striking young woman in a sleek black blazer and pencil skirt stand up. Her eyes widened slightly as she took in his youthful appearance.

"Jeon Byul-ho-ssi?" she asked, a hint of surprise in her voice. "I must say, you look even younger than I imagined."

Byul-ho smiled warmly, extending his hand. "And you must be Wan Jin-ae-ssi. I have to say, you're much prettier than I anticipated."

Jin-ae laughed softly, a faint blush coloring her cheeks. "You're quite the charmer, aren't you? Please, have a seat."

As they settled into their chairs, a waiter appeared to take their drink orders. They spent a few minutes discussing the menu and making small talk about the recent weather and traffic in Seoul.

Once their drinks arrived and they had placed their lunch orders, Byul-ho set his water glass down and leaned forward slightly. "So, Jin-ae-ssi, shall we discuss the reason for this meeting? I'm quite curious about what Butterfly Agency has in mind."

Jin-ae nodded, her expression becoming more serious as she reached for her briefcase. "Of course, Byul-ho-ssi. I have a proposal that I believe could benefit both our companies..."

Byul-ho nodded, his expression turning serious. "I've done some research on Butterfly Agency, Jin-ae-ssi. It seems your company has been facing some challenges recently."

Jin-ae's eyes widened slightly, a hint of surprise in her voice. "You investigated us?"

Byul-ho smiled, a mix of charm and shrewdness in his expression. "As the heir to a prominent business family, I'm sure you understand the importance of due diligence. It's only natural to research a company that might be involved in future business dealings." He paused, his eyes twinkling. "And I'm certain you've done your homework on Golden-Star Entertainment as well. Otherwise, you wouldn't be proposing a potential partnership, would you?"

Jin-ae's surprise melted into a knowing smile. She took a sip of her wine before nodding. "You're absolutely right, Byul-ho-ssi. I did investigate, and I must say, I'm very impressed by what you've achieved with Ascend."

Byul-ho's smile widened slightly. "Thank you. We've worked hard to make Ascend stand out in such a saturated market."

Jin-ae sighed, a touch of wistfulness in her voice. "I only wish I could say the same for my groups. Making them stand out has been... challenging."

Byul-ho chuckled softly, not unkindly. "The K-pop industry can be unforgiving. But sometimes, all it takes is a fresh perspective to turn things around."

His words hung in the air between them, loaded with potential. Jin-ae leaned forward slightly, her eyes bright with interest. "That's precisely why I wanted to meet with you, Byul-ho-ssi. I believe our companies might be able to help each other in ways we haven't considered before."

Byul-ho nodded, encouraging her to continue. The meeting was turning out to be more intriguing than he had initially anticipated.

Jin-ae took a deep breath, her posture straightening as she laid out her proposal. "I believe a collaboration between our companies could be mutually beneficial. Specifically, I'm proposing a joint project between Ascend and our girl group, Cool Girls."

She paused, gauging Byul-ho's reaction before continuing. "We could produce a special single together, combining Ascend's unique style with Cool Girls vocals. This would give Cool Girls exposure to Ascend's growing fanbase, while also potentially attracting a wider audience for Ascend."

As Jin-ae spoke, Byul-ho maintained a neutral expression, one hand stroking his chin thoughtfully. He knew well the importance of keeping a poker face in business negotiations. Showing too much interest or enthusiasm could put him at a disadvantage.

Jin-ae continued, her voice growing more animated. "Additionally, we could leverage my father's connections in the entertainment industry for joint promotions and appearances. This could open up new avenues for both our groups."

Byul-ho nodded slightly, encouraging her to continue without revealing his thoughts.

"Lastly," Jin-ae said, leaning forward slightly, "I believe your innovative approach to music production and marketing could help my Butterfly Agency. In return, we can offer resources and industry connections that could help accelerate Ascend's rise to prominence."

As she finished, Jin-ae watched Byul-ho carefully, trying to discern his thoughts. But his expression remained unreadable, his eyes thoughtful as he processed her proposal.

Comments

No offense please Author. I love this story it feels very fresh and interesting. But lately I feel the chapters are getting shorter and shorter. I am not specifically talking about the word count. It's more about what is in the chapter itself. 1 single chapter always feels like it hasn't changed the story in any way. Its talking 3-4 to move forward I feel. Please don't take this in a negative, just sharing my thoughts
