King of Games C69 Tutorial Town
Added 2024-08-22 14:51:42 +0000 UTCAs more beta testers materialized in the area, a dazzling light suddenly converged in the sky. The NPCs around them immediately dropped to their knees, bowing reverently.
Kaito and the other players looked on, bewildered by this sudden display. An elderly NPC woman next to Kaito nudged him gently. "What are you doing, traveler? Show some respect!"
Hesitantly, Kaito knelt down, playing along. He noticed many other players remained standing, some even snickering at the NPCs' behavior.
"Look at them, acting like it's real," one player muttered.
The NPCs' faces twisted in a mix of confusion and indignation at the players' lack of reverence.
Suddenly, the light coalesced into a giant, ethereal face in the sky. Its voice boomed across the landscape: "Welcome to this world, Players."
The term 'Players' caused a stir among the NPCs. They whispered among themselves, "Players? Is that what these strange folk are called?"
The face continued, "You are currently in the tutorial town. Here, you cannot die or become exhausted. Use this opportunity to practice and hone your skills."
As the announcement concluded, the face added, "If you encounter any bugs, please report them. Thank you."
With that, the apparition vanished, leaving the players buzzing with excitement and the NPCs eyeing them with a mixture of curiosity and wariness.
Kaito stood up, brushing off his virtual clothes. He couldn't help but grin at the complexity of this world. "Well," he thought, "this is going to be more interesting than I imagined."
As the reality of their invulnerability sank in, some players began to test the limits of this virtual world. A group nearby picked up stones, tossing them at each other with reckless abandon.
"Hey, I felt that!" one exclaimed, rubbing his arm where the stone had hit.
"Yeah, but look, no damage!" his friend replied, laughing.
Others engaged in impromptu boxing matches, throwing punches with abandon. Their faces registered surprise at the pain, followed quickly by relief as they realized it was fleeting and harmless.
Kaito observed this chaos with a mixture of amusement and curiosity. As he pondered his next move, a voice called out to him.
"Hey there! Want to team up and explore this game together?"
Turning, Kaito saw a player with long purple hair and vibrant green eyes. He considered for a moment before nodding. "Sure, why not? Two heads are better than one, right?"
The girl grinned. "Great! I'm LunarEclipse, by the way."
"Phantom Kid," Kaito replied, returning the smile. "Nice to meet you, LunarEclipse."
As they shook hands, Kaito couldn't help but marvel at the natural feel of the interaction. It was easy to forget this was all virtual.
"So," LunarEclipse said, her eyes sparkling with excitement, "where should we start our adventure?"
Kaito glanced around the bustling tutorial town, taking in the various paths and possibilities. "Well," he said with a mischievous grin, "I've always been fond of rooftops. Shall we see what this town looks like from above?"
LunarEclipse laughed. "I like the way you think, Phantom Kid. Lead the way!"
They set off towards the nearest building.

Kaito and LunarEclipse sat on a rooftop, their legs dangling over the edge as they discussed their next move.
"So, you're a speedrunner?" Kaito asked, impressed.
LunarEclipse nodded enthusiastically. "Yep! It's all about finding creative ways to break the game."
"And you think we can do that here?" Kaito looked around at the hyper-realistic world. "I can barely tell this isn't real. How do we find bugs in something so... perfect?"
LunarEclipse chuckled. "That's the fun part! Look, the game's given us a loophole already - we can't die or get tired in town, right?"
Kaito nodded, intrigued. "Go on."
"Well, what if we could take that advantage outside the town? Make the game think we're still here when we're not?"
Kaito's eyes widened as he caught on. "So we need to trick the game somehow..."
"Yes!" LunarEclipse grinned. "We need to find a way to leave town while fooling the system into thinking we're still in the safe zone."
Kaito felt a familiar thrill - the same excitement he got when planning a heist. "Alright, I'm in. Where do we start?"
LunarEclipse stood up, her eyes scanning the virtual horizon. "First, we need to find the town's boundaries. Then we look for any inconsistencies - places where the programming might be a bit... flexible."
They set off to explore the town's edges.
Kaito and LunarEclipse carefully made their way to the edge of the tutorial town, eventually coming face-to-face with a towering wall that marked the boundary.
As they surveyed their surroundings, Kaito's eyes were drawn to something in the distance. "Look," he said, pointing. "That's... massive."
Floating in the sky was an enormous structure - a colossal, inverted cone comprised of multiple levels, each wider than the one below it. The entire construct seemed to defy gravity, hovering impossibly in the air.
LunarEclipse's eyes widened. "Wow... I wonder what that is."
After marveling at the sight for a moment, they turned their attention back to the task at hand. They began discussing various ways to potentially fool the system.
"What if we try to climb over the wall?" LunarEclipse suggested.
Kaito shook his head. "Too obvious. The game probably has measures against that."
They attempted several other methods - looking for gaps in the wall, trying to glitch through objects, even attempting to trick NPCs into escorting them out. But nothing seemed to work.
Kaito stroked his chin thoughtfully, while LunarEclipse's determination to crack the game only seemed to grow with each failed attempt.
After a while, Kaito had an idea. "Hey, why don't we head back to town for now? We could train a bit, get used to these virtual bodies. Might give us some new insights."
LunarEclipse nodded, seeing the logic in his suggestion. "Good thinking. Sometimes you need to step back to see the bigger picture."
As they made their way back to the bustling center of the tutorial town, both were lost in thought, already planning their next attempt to unravel the bugs or glitches of this virtual world.

Kaito and LunarEclipse made their way back to the bustling center of the tutorial town, the vibrant atmosphere alive with the chatter of players and NPCs alike.
As they walked, they discussed their training session. "You know, everything worked flawlessly," Kaito said, a hint of frustration in his voice. "No bugs, no glitches. It’s like the game is too perfect."
LunarEclipse nodded, equally perplexed. "It’s almost like the developers anticipated every possible exploit. But there’s got to be something… some hidden mechanic or overlooked detail."
As they passed by the town’s marketplace, LunarEclipse spotted a pub with a sign that read "The Traveler's Rest."
She nudged Kaito. "How about we take a break? Maybe we’re overthinking things. A good meal might clear our heads."
Kaito smiled. "Sounds like a plan. And besides, I’m curious—can we actually taste the food in this game?"
