Godfather System C98 A Warm Meeting

The afternoon sun beat down on Los Angeles as Lorenzo, resplendent in his luxurious tuxedo and golden mask, finished adjusting his fedora. The sunlight danced off the golden handle and tip of his cane as he sauntered to his waiting car. Mike, his driver, stood by the open door, his wolf-masked face impassive.

Lorenzo's men, Adam, Max, and the others, formed a semicircle around the car, their own masks a testament to the secrecy of their business.

Lorenzo rolled down the window, "My business in Las Vegas won't take long. Keep things under control here, understand?"

Adam nodded, his expression a mix of professionalism and concern. "You got it, boss." The apprehension in his voice was barely hidden as he added, "But you'd better be careful out there."

It was no secret that Lorenzo would be meeting with the McAfee Syndicate boss in their own territory—a move akin to walking into the lion's den.

With a curt nod to Adam, Lorenzo gave Mike a discreet signal, and the car purred to life, gliding away from the curb. Max, ever observant, patted Adam's shoulder reassuringly.

"Don't fret too much about the boss. You have no idea how capable he is in a fight." Max's voice was laced with admiration, and a hint of unease flickered in his eyes. "I've seen him in action during the war, and trust me, those memories aren't fading anytime soon."

Adam managed a wan smile. "I hope you're right."

Meanwhile, inside the car, Lorenzo's eyes glinted with anticipation behind his golden mask. The prospect of meeting Guy McAfee, the boss and founder of the McAfee Syndicate, sent a thrill down his spine. In the heart of their own territory, no less. This negotiation would be... interesting, to say the least.

***

In just four to five hours, the car carrying Lorenzo and Mike pulled up in front of the neon-soaked facade of the McAfee Syndicate's territory in Las Vegas. The air was thick with the mingled scents of cigarette smoke, greasy food, and desperation as the two men stepped out of the car. Mike remained by the car as Lorenzo straightened his tuxedo and tipped his fedora.

The sidewalk bustled with people, some in suits, others in gaudy costumes, all seeking the thrill of the night.

Lorenzo sauntered towards the casino, his every step exuding an air of confidence that belied the tension coiled in his stomach.

***

In the McAfee casino, the middle-aged Guy McAfee waited for the mysterious "Wolf Familia" boss, Lorenzo, in a spacious, opulent room. Armed men flanked him, their eyes darting around the room in practiced paranoia.

"Boss, are you sure that 'Wolf Familia' boss will show up?" One of Guy's men voiced his doubts, eyebrows raised skeptically.

Guy McAfee's expression remained impassive as he replied, "Although he said he'd show up, I doubt it. But a man can hope, right?"

Just as another lackey was about to chime in with his own skepticism, the casino manager came rushing in, his face flushed from running.

The room fell silent as the manager caught his breath and blurted out, "Boss, that person you're waiting for... he's here!"

Gasps and muffled curses escaped the lips of the McAfee Syndicate members as they struggled to process the news.

Guy McAfee's jaw clenched, but he remained outwardly composed as he asked, "Is he alone?"

The manager nodded frantically, "Yes, boss! He's wearing the golden mask, carrying a cane, and he's dressed in a tuxedo, just as you described."

Mutters and whispers filled the room, disbelief and apprehension hanging heavy in the air.

Guy McAfee's hands clenched into fists atop the table, barely restraining his surprise and excitement. "What are you waiting for? Quickly lead him in!" he barked at the manager, his voice laced with both irritation and anticipation.

"Yes, boss!" the manager responded, almost tripping over his feet as he rushed to fulfill the order.

As soon as the manager had left, Guy McAfee couldn't contain his smirk any longer. He looked at his men and sneered, "It looks like we overestimated this 'Wolf Familia' gang in Los Angeles, boys. He actually had the audacity to set foot in our territory alone."

One of his men, visibly uneasy, dared to speak up, "What if he's bluffing, boss? What if he brought his men with him?"

Guy McAfee's smirk deepened, his eyes shining with a cold arrogance. "It doesn't matter. This is our turf, not his. Even if he did, we outnumber them here in Las Vegas. Los Angeles might be close, but it's still not enough to save him."

His men exchanged glances, but they too couldn't find it in them to defy their boss's confidence.

One man in the group, a burly man named Tony, spoke up, his deep voice booming with skepticism. "Boss, we don't even know the man behind the 'Wolf Familia' mask. How can we be sure it's really him and not just some decoy they sent?"

Guy McAfee and his men went silent, silenced by the valid point. The excitement in the room began to dissipate slightly as they considered Tony's words. If it was just a decoy, dealing with him wouldn't solve anything.

"Tony's right. We don't want to fall for some kind of setup," Philip, another one of Guy's men, added. "If we take out a decoy, the real 'Wolf Familia' boss would still be out there, causing trouble for us in Los Angeles."

Guy McAfee's expression became grim, but he quickly masked it with a smirk. "Don't worry, boys. We'll find out if this guy's the real deal or not. We'll see if he's the real boss or just a well-trained dog." The room erupted in crude laughter at his joke, but the tension in the air remained palpable.

---

The casino manager, visibly intimidated, led Lorenzo to the special room. "Gentleman, please. The boss is waiting." He said, voice shaking slightly as he opened the door.

Guy McAfee and his twelve men were already seated when Lorenzo entered the room. Guy, a middle-aged man with a receding hairline and a network of wrinkles around his eyes, sat at the head of the table. He watched Lorenzo closely, sizing him up.

Lorenzo didn't seem to care about the men flanking Guy, nor did he wait for an invitation. He casually took a seat in front of Guy, as if he owned the place.

Philip, one of Guy's right-hand men, immediately piped up: "You... Boss Guy, he hasn't—"

"It's okay, it's okay." Guy waved him off, a flicker of amusement in his eyes. "I don't mind at all... We're all here to talk business, right?"

Lorenzo leaned back in his chair, one leg crossed over the other, exuding a confidence that seemed out of place given the situation. His actions irked the men around Guy, but they held their tongues, sensing their boss wanted to see what this arrogant man had to say.

"Not a bad place you've got here, Guy McAfee." Lorenzo drawled, seemingly unconcerned about using Guy's full name.

Guy, in contrast, visibly flinched at the mention of his last name. He cleared his throat. "Indeed it isn't. But I hope you didn't forget why you're here at this very moment?"

Lorenzo took his time, as if he had all the time in the world. "There's no hurry, Guy. Isn't it better to know each other better?" His menacing eyes flashed with amusement through the slit of his golden mask.

Guy's men shifted uncomfortably, but their boss maintained his composure. "Of course, of course."

He signaled to one of his men, "Sod, please inform the manager to prepare food and drinks for our... guest."

Sod left the room, leaving an uncomfortable silence in his wake. Guy broke the silence, "Will you be able to eat with that mask on?"

Lorenzo's gloved hand moved to the mask, and Guy thought he was about to remove it. But to everyone's surprise, he only unveiled the lower half of his face, revealing a strong jawline and a smirking mouth.

Lorenzo's eyes glinted. "This will do, won't it?"

Guy's men bristled, but their boss silenced them with a look. "It's more than enough, I suppose."

"What do you think?" Lorenzo asked, tilting his head slightly, the light glinting off his mask.

Guy chuckled, genuinely amused this time. "Interesting mask. Where'd you get it?"

Lorenzo grinned. "Chinatown. They've got the best deals, don't you think?"

Guy laughed, louder this time, seemingly more at ease. "I like you."

As the food and drinks were brought in, the two men dug in, making small talk as they ate.

Lorenzo's sharpened senses, a result of his level ups, allowed him to discreetly sniff the air around him. He could detect no traces of poison in the food or drinks before him.

As conversation was kept light, Guy was impressed by how at ease the man across from him seemed, despite being on enemy turf.

Over the course of their meal, Guy and Lorenzo engaged in what could almost be called small talk. They shared seemingly ridiculous stories and laughed together like old friends. However, they both knew the true reason for their meeting loomed between them like an unspoken threat.

Finally, Guy set down his cutlery and regarded Lorenzo levelly. "Now that we've... warmed up to each other, I have a question for you, 'wolf boss.'"

Lorenzo's grin remained in place, but there was a coldness in his eyes that sent chills down the spines of Guy's men. "Ask away."

Guy didn't hesitate. "Are you really the infamous leader of the 'Wolf Familia'?"

In response, Lorenzo revealed his sharp canine teeth in a smile. Guy and his men couldn't miss the confidence radiating from him, nor the air of danger that suddenly filled the room.

"Isn't my confidence enough proof that I am the boss?" Lorenzo purred, his eyes narrowing slightly behind the golden mask.

Guy chuckled, but there was no mirth in the sound. "Confidence, huh? I wonder why you're so sure of yourself." His eyes drifted to the men behind Lorenzo's back, who were now visibly tense.

"The answer is," Lorenzo continued, "I am indeed the boss of the 'Wolf Familia'."

Guy feigned a hearty laugh. "Well, that's the most convincing answer I've ever heard," he drawled. "Too bad it's not enough."

In an instant, the two men behind Lorenzo's chair stood up, their guns trained on the back of Lorenzo's head.

"Now with your life on the line, can you be so confident?" Guy cackled, a smug grin on his face as he eyed Lorenzo.

Everyone at the table waited for some kind of reaction from Lorenzo, but he merely sipped his wine leisurely. "Mmm..." He glanced at the men pointing their guns at him before continuing, "If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't point those at my head." He said it playfully, as if he were discussing the weather. "Didn't you know it's dangerous?"

The two men holding the guns on Lorenzo lost their patience. "You better keep your mouth shut, you little piece of shit."

"We can blow your brains out any moment!" His partner finished, his voice cold as ice.

Lorenzo chuckled darkly, the sound sending chills down everyone's spine.

Guy scowled. "You're playing with fire, wolf boss. Either remove your mask and prove your identity-"

Before he could finish, in a blur of movement too fast for the naked eye, Lorenzo's hidden cane-weapon flashed out, slicing cleanly through the wrists of the men holding the guns.

Blood sprayed from the severed limbs, spattering Guy's face with crimson droplets. His eyes widened in horror as the men behind Lorenzo shrieked in agony, clutching their bleeding stumps.

"Aaargh! My hand!" They screamed in agony, staring in disbelief at the stumps where their hands once were.
