"Was this really necessary, Mom?" he asked, his voice laced with resignation.
Tomoko's expression softened, but her words were firm. "I'm afraid so, dear. You must look presentable for your fiancé." She addressed the group, "Please, make my son look his best."
"Yes, ma'am," the fashion designer replied, her eyes sparkling with creative energy.
The transformation began immediately. The hair stylist started by running their fingers through Shinro's unruly locks, taming them into a sleek, refined style that accentuated his strong jawline. Next, the makeup artist stepped in, subtly enhancing his features with a few brushstrokes of foundation and mascara, making his already striking features even more captivating. Meanwhile, the fashion designer rummaged through an extensive wardrobe, finally settling on a tailored suit that would flatter Shinro's slender yet toned frame.
As the artists worked their magic, Shinro couldn't help but feel a twinge of apprehension in his stomach. He knew he had no say in the matter, but part of him still resisted the idea of this arranged marriage. However, he decided to go along with it.

Just two hours later, the Suzuki residence buzzed with activity as they prepared to welcome their esteemed guests. Shinro's fiancé-to-be, Momiji Ooka, and her butler, Muga Iori, were soon to arrive. Tomoko Suzuki, Shinro's mother, and the Suzuki family butler, Hiro, stood at the entrance, waiting to greet their visitors.
A sleek black car pulled up to the driveway, and Muga Iori was the first to step out, followed by the beautiful yet aloof Momiji Ooka. Muga, impeccably dressed in his butler attire, bowed deeply before Tomoko and Hiro.
"Good evening, Mrs. Suzuki, Hiro-san. Thank you so much for having us here tonight," he said, his voice brimming with gratitude.
Tomoko smiled warmly, "Muga-san, it's our pleasure. Please, come in."
Momiji, on the other hand, reluctantly followed them inside, her expression a mix of boredom and annoyance. Muga noticed her displeasure and discreetly nudged her, signaling her to behave. With a huff, Momiji straightened her posture and forced a polite smile.
"Thank you for inviting us," she said stiffly, her eyes darting around the opulent foyer.
"The pleasure is all ours," Tomoko replied, her practiced smile masking her disappointment at Momiji's cold demeanor. "Please, make yourself at home. Shinro will be right down."
Hiro led their guests to the spacious living room, where a table was set with an assortment of delicacies and refreshments.
Momiji and Muga took their seats, Momiji's every movement exuding reluctance. Muga, on the other hand, was more than gracious, complimenting the Suzukis on their hospitality and tasteful décor.
As they made small talk, the sound of footsteps echoed in the hallway, and Shinro emerged, his newfound confidence and poise catching everyone off guard. Momiji's eyes widened ever so slightly, taking in his transformed appearance. Gone was the disheveled young man she had seen in the photos; in his place stood a refined and attractive suitor. Muga Iori, too, was taken aback by the drastic change in Shinro's appearance.
Momiji's heart, however, remained unmoved. In her heart, there was only one man: Hattori Heiji. No matter how handsome or charming this new Shinro might be, it wouldn't change her feelings.
Tomoko beamed with pride, "Momiji, Muga-san, allow me to present my son, Shinro Suzuki."
Shinro bowed deeply, "It's an honor to finally meet you both."
Muga greeted him warmly, "The pleasure is mine, Shinro-san." However, Momiji's greeting was nonchalant at best, her disinterest palpable. Tomoko, seeing the tension, gestured for them to sit down for dinner.
Throughout the meal, Momiji remained aloof, barely touching her food and engaging in conversation only when necessary. Muga tried to make up for her coldness, asking Shinro about his interests and hobbies. Shinro, to his credit, answered politely.
As the dinner came to an end, Tomoko suggested, "Shinro, why don't you show Momiji-san to her guest room? She must be tired from her journey."
Momiji's eyes flashed with irritation, but she quickly masked it. "Thank you for your hospitality, Mrs. Suzuki, but Iori-san will be more than capable of showing me the way."
Muga bowed stiffly, "Of course, Momiji-san."
Shinro's shoulders slumped ever so slightly, but he maintained his composure. "Very well, if you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask."
After Momiji and Muga Iori left the room, Shinro turned to his mother, his expression a mix of frustration and disappointment.
"See? I don't think this engagement will work. Let's not waste any more time and just end this arranged marriage nonsense."
Tomoko sighed, her expression sympathetic but firm. "I understand your concerns, but it's only natural for both of you to be uncomfortable and awkward during your first meeting."
Shinro scoffed, "Awkward? I was polite! It's that woman who's acting like she's too good for us!"
Tomoko placed a soothing hand on her son's arm. "I know it's not easy, but in an arranged marriage, it's normal for the woman to feel apprehensive. Give her some time, and I'm sure she'll come around once she gets to know you better. You are a wonderful young man, Shinro, and I know she'll see that."
"I don't really care if she finds worth in me or not. I don't even like her after seeing her tonight. Sure, she's above average, or maybe pretty, but not that pretty to have such an attitude," Shinro muttered under his breath as he went off to his room, unaware of the tiny recorder Momiji had left behind.
Meanwhile, Momiji changed into her pajamas and slipped into bed, but sleep eluded her. Curiosity got the better of her, and she decided to listen to the recording from the hidden recorder. As she listened to their conversation, she felt a flicker of relief upon hearing Shinro's reluctance about the engagement. However, her relief quickly turned to anger when she heard his insult about her looks and attitude.
Momiji's cheeks flushed with embarrassment and indignation. "How dare he?!" she thought to herself, her heart pounding in her chest. Despite her best efforts to deny it, her pride had been hurt.

Shinro stormed into his room, slamming the door behind him. He needed a distraction from the disastrous dinner, and what better way to forget his troubles than by checking at his second video game performance?
He booted up his computer and opened YouTube, where he immediately spotted a new video from YouTuber, Markiplier. The video was titled "Undertale - Part 1: Fallen Down the Rabbit Hole."
Intrigued, Shinro clicked on it, eager to see how Markiplier would fare in his latest creation. As the video started, he couldn't help but smile as Markiplier became engrossed in the game's captivating storyline and charming characters.
"I guess all those sleepless nights paid off," Shinro muttered to himself, a sense of pride welling within him.
He had poured his heart and soul into developing Undertale, and seeing a popular YouTuber like Markiplier enjoy it made all the hard work worthwhile.
As Shinro watched Markiplier's video, he couldn't help but notice the staggering view count: 30,000 views in just two hours! He knew this meant that the downloads for his game, "Undertale," must have skyrocketed as well. Sure enough, when he checked his developer dashboard, his system points had increased by the thousands.
Shinro's brows furrowed. "This can't be right. Markiplier's popular, but not this popular."
His suspicions were confirmed when he saw that it wasn't just Markiplier's channel that was playing "Undertale." Dozens of other YouTubers had also picked up the game, each garnering thousands of views themselves.
The comments section below each video was flooded with questions from curious viewers, all asking the same thing: "Where can I download this game?" The answer was always the same: "Just go to KiShin.com, it's free to play!"
Shinro's heart swelled with pride as he saw his website being shared by complete strangers. He had worked tirelessly on "Undertale," and now, it seemed like his hard work on his website too was finally paying off. The game was gaining traction, and it was all thanks to word of mouth.
He couldn't help but smile as he turned off his computer, ready to call it a night.
