He is the co-author of The Worm at the Core: On the Role of Death in Life. Sheldon is a Professor of Psychology at Skidmore College.

Liberals believe in rules, pageantry and performance of being nice and for equality. However, the contradiction of capitalism especially late/failing capitalism is a real problem that libs can’t address in any material way causing them frustration and anger. Conservatives understand the system of capitalism and are gung-ho on making it work. This it the conflict, this is also why your seeing Harris/walz being very pro cop, pro immigration enforcement, tough on crime, and pro war. They say support these things in a backhand manner but nonetheless this is where the tension lies. The Dems want the cops to smile more, go to more classes, get more training as if that in any way will do anything to slow down or lessen police brutality. The same goes for the genocide in Gaza. The Dems cannot grow a pair to stop the IDF bc AIPAC funds 99% of the Dems bench nationally and is-not-real is pumping billions into our #1 export, guns and bombs making capitalism work. The can be no fundamental change in society without addressing some of the contradictions of capitalism of which the liberals support just the same as conservatives. As more and more people get thrown to the streets, small business fails, homelessness increases, everything becomes even less affordable by the day, it angers both sides because they cannot see or refuse to accept the core problem so it has to be the other guy…
