Disintegrity 61 Remade

Now, onto page 61. It is bar none the most thoroughly redone page of the entire comic so far. Usually, even when I say "there's nothing left of the old page", there's always some super tiny insignificant thing that was still carried over, like a texture, an onomatopoeia, dialog... Here ? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
That aside, why the changes ?
The original page was mostly uninteresting and hard to parse. The bottom panel was the only one that was worth anything. So there was little point in tryin to bring it up to form, it was just better to redo it altogether. In itself, it's not like the page changes much in terms of information being relayed but I think it's just done more efficiently, except perhaps for the first panel where it might be more obvious that Zee is pushing Larsen down on the floor yet I didn't feel like it needed to be that obvious to be understandable.
The last panel is one of those rare instances where I actually zoomed in instead of out. I did say the bottom panel was the only worthwhile one of the old page yet I don't think the pose looked so natural for Zee in particular. Zoomed in, Zee's pose just doesn't really show anymore so it's fine ! Plus the importance is that Larsen is the one feeling good so it makes sense he'd be focused on. Also the zoom kinda shows Zee cupping Larsen's balls and it's hot.
All that being said, I noticed a problem with the remake comic as a whole. Since it's taking me so long to do and I did pages in a random order for the longest time, the older remade pages have a obviously thicker linework than the newer on and it looks rather inconsistent. I I might have to touch up some of the remade to balance it a bit.

The panels where their two bodies are just meshed together like some incomprehensible Cronenberg abomination that doesn't show off anything interesting, the random round blue panel with a red tinted Larsen moaning for no discernible reason and then the last one where the fact that Larsen moans because of Zee's fingering isn't highlighted at all nor anywhere in the page beside the dialog. It was kinda poopy.

2020-08-21 13:57:19 +0000 UTCI do get it tho, it's less exciting to see a story you already know getting more time in the air instead of something wholly new. I feel the same way about video-game quite often, when they get remade (which happens a lot these recent years) and all I can think of is "cool but... How about something NEW ?" From my perspective as a creator on the other hand, it's frustrating to look back at the work you once were somewhat happy with yet finding it lacking in retrospective. If I listened to myself I would remaster-remake ALL of my comics.... Moreover, my comics are mostly porn and out of every genre that benefits from looking good, I really can't think of anything else where it matters quite as much ! Which is why I think that the value of this remake gets more obvious when you see the butts.

I don't know how popular it really is in my larger audience to have the same comic redone instead of something new but so far I'm also happy with the redo so \o/ Also yeh Zee is too cute. Imagine having bullied him, Larsen don't deserve him. He's TOXIC.

2020-08-21 12:58:03 +0000 UTCThis was not one of my favorite pages in the original, because I couldn't figure out if Zee was doing a good job and Larsen was just being coy about enjoying it or if Zee was actually just poking around like an idiot and Larsen was telling the truth that it kind of sucked and Zee was being a jerk for not listening to his partner. But in the remake, it's sooo much clearer that Zee isn't being a jerk and a terrible lover and is instead really pleasuring Larson and that's just so much sexier. Before, this page broke up the sexy times. Now it works (and looks a whole lot better). That last panel is hot.

I dare not say again that the old page was visually challenging for me - 'cause I say that all the time - , but most of the panels were just a hard to distinguish chaos of forms and colors for my eyes. This one - again - is much clearer. Though, I just noticed that there will be still some things I find out first when looking at the page for the umphtieth time: I only just saw Larsen's west flying away in the movement in the first panel. This is definately one of those pages that reminds me shamefully of my attitude when you first thought of giving the comic a remake: ah, leave it, it's fine! Here is a prominent example of the totally unsubtle difference between "fine" and "great". Thank you for the effort!
