Stream comm for topaz & lux!
As you can see in the timelapse, I went through a few revisions for Lux's character on the right - I knew I wanted to push it a bit further with some sagging pre-existing, and after they sent me another example of the sort of fat physics they had in mind, I had a bit of a breakthrough with dynamic fat shapes I'm real pleased with. I wish I had more free time on my hands to study this stuff outside of commissions, but I'm always glad when I get to make some little skill level-ups mid-piece like this.
The overall background and room setting was very vibes-based, I was originally going to go even darker and orange-er like it's all barely lit by candlelight, but didnt want Orng's silhouette to get too lost so I brightened it up a good bit, just letting loose suggestions of shapes in the bg inform the viewer of where we are, one of those liminal space taverns. And I wanted to suggest a sense of "don't get too comfortable / acclimated to the environment, we're about to switch over to another location".
