Coming back to this because I realized I never answered it; thanks for the detailed feedback, it's really helpful to have :3 Also I must say even I agree about the envoy's fight, I wa s honestly a lot more focused one getting the deep to feel right than the fight to be good :')

2023-09-13 10:31:36 +0000 UTCYeah the only thing that damaged him was the spells the scepter wielder was using. Everyone else with shields and crossbows tried to stop him but well ... it was a stone ogre pareth, good luck lol

2023-09-12 00:07:58 +0000 UTCYea, it's where he got tp'd into that underground cave right? I can picture the Avians, but I can't really recall how Pareth beat them. I guess he just clobbered them, silent behemoth that he is.
2023-09-11 23:01:46 +0000 UTCOhhh, that's right. Now I remember. I guess my impression of Ormoncleth just overshadowed the prior fight. Or should I say, eclipsed? Hehe
2023-09-11 23:00:09 +0000 UTCAnd the pareth fight was before zerie when they tried to port sof but because of her protection she got taken back immediately but left pareth. He had to solo several avians with crossbows and magic. It's where sof got her scepter after he was done.

2023-09-11 22:54:49 +0000 UTCThe jungle Templar was the fight where sof got bookie and met the orator. That's where she learned about scripture being the pos who messed up her class and caused the killing of the children. Story wise it was really impactful, but I was just grading on fight quality.

2023-09-11 22:53:24 +0000 UTCI usually visualize and remember one or two key scenes in every fight. I can give you my impressions as of this moment, without rereading anything. The following are what comes to mind when I reflect back on each fight. Siren Queen: People anchoring themselves to the boat via plant / wood magic. The ship being smashed to splinters. Orvod: Chasing Sofia with a big bell and cube. Also Sofia hiding in water and utilizing guerilla tactics. It really reminds me of flying fish that jump out of the water and fall back down, a good metaphor for not giving up. I also drew some parallels to cultivators who have to jump upwards through the carp gate to enter the next realm. Great choreography. Unsurprisingly one of the best fights. Zhang Lu: Roundish room with our Lu trapped in the middle. The streams of fire conjured a good mental image, I could even picture the air distort due to heat. Not a bad fight, but it wasn't as epic as some other contenders. Which is fine! Not every fight needs or should be like Orvod. I think it a was a fitting end to that arc. The jungle's templar: Honestly, I'm not even sure what fight this is. I think it's the one where she blows up the temple and then gets chased? It didn't leave a big impression on me tbh. Pareth vs Avian Ghosts: I literally don't remember a thing. Reading that conjured an image of Sof fighting against Shades, which was a great fight itself might i add. Zerei: I just love Zerei, such a cutie. One key scene for me was Zerei crying out chained to the altar and Sof hesitantly approaching. The other one is when they tussle in demon form and fall into lava. Actually, I think I now remember the Avian Ghost fight, it was also in that underground space wasnt it? Ironically I can picture the appearance of the ghosts and Sof putting down a ward in a house, but not the actual fight itself. Victory: An epic conclusion for an equally epic arc. My most vivid impression is of Victory drawing in all the surrounding mana and going psycho mode. Where there eery tentacles growing out of his head? No matter, that's the way I imagined it. The other one is Sof falling down the tower and Victory corrupting the tower and trying to catch her. Ormoncleth's envoy: I have to echo the sentiment of another poster. This fight felt kind of shallow. I liked the surrealism and you painting impossible pictures, I would love to read more of that. Yet the actual fight itself didnt really feel impactful to me. Sure, Sof was "in danger", but it just didn't have the oopmh I expected it to have. The way the fight ends with Sof stretching and barely touching the Envoys inner core before the tentacles / branches (?) hit her felt kinda cliche to me. I did feel like I already read that very same scene in a dozen different novels. Which isn't a bad thing per se, there is a reason why fights are often depicted to end this way. It's just what went through my head thinking back on it, so I thought i might as well include it, even if it doesn't say much. Tbh I have a stronger impression of the geometry, the overlapping dimensions and the pillar, than the fight itself. Make of that what you will. The fight against the bulbuous Spider-parasite with honeycombs was way more interesting. I could vividly picture their grotesqueness and iridescence, with just a hint of elegance and grace, Daddy hatred: GL? Yes please! Wow, this really dragged on longer than I thought it would. Great job if you were able to read the whole thing! Again, these are only my personal impressions; feel free to comment which parts you agree or disagree with.
2023-09-11 18:36:19 +0000 UTCJoking vote aside the victory fight was fun.. But then again we aren't done with Sofia and saria yet so... I call this an incomplete vote.
