PATRON WIP POST || The Patio of Tomorrow ✨🚀

Hello my beautiful friends!!! 🌞
I am so so excited to show off how the Patio Set has been coming along. I'm very close to finishing it and I'm hoping to have it out for everyone by either the end of this week or the beginning of the next!

So! Let's get into it!

 So I started with the furniture we find at the back of our house in Sanctuary at the beginning of the game. My goal was to make these pieces with my own little twist while referencing their real world counterparts.

THE CHAIRS

 The Chairs in the game are a direct reference to the Bunting's Metal Porch Chairs, specifically the Pie Crust Pattern that was produced from 1952-1963.

Bunting was the top producer of metal patio chairs like this until the lightweight nylon and aluminum folding chairs took over the market at a cheaper price point- and this style fell out of popularity.

I replicated 4 of the original bunting designs I liked for the chairs in game and they all have their own special bump map to make them extra pretty.

I also went ahead and made a 2 person loveseat, but forwent the 3 person glider cause it's lowkey ugly sorry (also we can't even glide in this game!!!)

THE UMBRELLA TABLE

 The umbrella in the game is referencing Sundrella's Aluminum Patio Umbrellas, which have layered triangles of aluminum and a sort of UFO shape, which is what I think appealed to the original art team.

I took her and made her a little more faithful to the original reference, with a very pretty underside (if I do say so myself)

One thing I wanted was to give ya'll the option to change the way you can use the umbrella. So with lots of help from Lot51 and Waffle, you'll be able to click the umbrella itself in live mode to change it from tilted to straight, as well as move it freely around! Just watch out for windy weather, there's a chance your umbrella might tilt on its own in inclimate weather.

I'm really really excited about it, it also has a special slot so if you accidentally move it in live mode, it will snap right back in place.

Besides the umbrella, the dining table is a 4 seater- because cramming 6 chairs around a round table always seemed like overkill to me, and it has two versions of each swatch- one with a hole for the umbrella, and one that's flat.

I love using mesh trickery for little details like this.

THE GRILL

 The grill in the game is based off the 1958 KamKap Kook-Out BBQ Grill. I leaned a little more toward the game model design with this one and gave it just a little bit more extra style.

MISCELLANEOUS EXTRAS

So that was all the furniture we see on the back porch in the game! Everything else will be a little bonus.
