JANUARY PATRON UPDATE || Bioshock Deco 🍸🌊

UPDATE: 01/13/25

Hello! Happy New Year! Again! 

It's been a whole year since I started this monster collab, and I'm happy to announce that it will be releasing next week! (Actually for real this time, I have places to be, more CC to make.) 

I always wanted this to be a New Years Set since that's the day that Rapture fell into chaos. And while I am loving making Art Deco it's time to put this one to bed. I may revisit the style in the future and make a grand master bedroom set. But we'll see!

So what's new?

Wall Speakers: 

We saw these speakers in the intro of the first game and I thought they were so fun and so well designed. I enjoy how much they look like flowers. I adapted them to the sims- so not a total 1 for 1 but I think the chunkiness and simplified shapes work really well for them.

For this set I've been paint a lot- a loooot of metal.
I usually use substance painter for texturing, but I ended up doing this texture directly in photoshop because substance isn't great at exporting metal textures that will work well with the sims 4's simplified shader system. It's easier in the long run just to paint the metal myself (with a lower contrast in the highs and lows) and let the specular map carry it the rest of the way in game.

I also made some custom tuning for this speaker so the life and death FX will come out of both sides! (Did you know every effect that's in game is Base Game Compatible? Fun Fact!)

LAMPS and BARSTOOLS:

My goal this last week is to pour everything I have left in me into the Bar and Bar back, so I wanted to sneak in a wall light, and of course, the much needed barstool before I got completely lost in the Sauce.

For the Barstools I wanted to do something more Nautical to celebrate Rapture's whole underwater setting. I liked these because they looked like they'd fit perfectly on a submarine.

And I just thought the light was neat !! It doesnt shed much light so you can go crazy with them and throw a bunch in the room without killing your dark lounge vibes.

Elevators:

DoctorSimcraft started this Elevator last year, and I just love the shape and design of it! She entrusted me with weight painting, more tasty metal painting and final swatches! These will work with RVSNs Animated Elevators mod, which I personally love! They're great for when I need my sims to zip around big lots.

That's all til release! Thank you for your extreme, extreme, extreeeeme patience with this one. That's on me fr. But I know its going to be worth every second!

Hello my friends!! 

I hope the end of the year was kind and relaxing for you, and the beginning of this new one has been just the fresh start you needed. 

I come with exciting news to share! This month I'm collaborating with two of my favorite people, LXNcc and DoctorSimcraft to bring you an art deco lounge set inspired by the underwater city of Rapture from the game Bioshock! 

She's going to be very classy, and absolutely covered head to toe in velvet, metal and marble.
I've dropped some WIP pictures below for you, I'm hoping to get this out on the 30th of January for everyone to enjoy, but we'll see ! I don't want to rush this set I've wanted to make forever.

UPDATE 02/12/24: Hoping to wrap up this set before the end of next week- apologies for the delay! I want to get started on the next set which will be a continuation of the House of Tomorrow Series! (UPDATE 01/13/25 - HAH yeah sure Anne)

I'll keep adding to the WIP as the project progresses! 💖
