Clarification: I fr didn't think about that at all, but it has clearly been portrayed to this point that that's what fusion is to gems..., thats why I thought of the perspective, making sure you get my reasoning, its all in the story Im not making it up on some weirdo shit.

With The Answer, when Ruby and Sapphire meet each other, you noted the transition in styles after they run away from the other gems. I don't remember if there was any official stuff that explained it, but I'm pretty sure they were taking a lot of inspiration from Sleeping Beauty for the latter half with how they were doing the backgrounds and stuff. I think overall they were going for a storybook kind of vibe, with the colored silhouettes in the first part and flat, pretty environments in the second. The Answer actually does exist in the form of a children's book, too!
