Last season in the final scene when she looked back, a golden ornament on her back gleamed, that is why people say it was the item. It serves to protect the wearer and another person, that's why he was covering Jayce at the beginning of this episode. It's not explained in this episode and seems that it wont be explained, It's some lore shit. So, it's still a theory, it can be some Ixtal magic too but the object did disappear so I'm more inclined to the Solari.
