Dev Update #1 - D.I.E.T. - 0.26.0

Quick update on my progress:

So I'm starting off with my thoughts this time because I have some (rather unfortunate) news. Initially, a new writer named WidelySpeaking was writing 0.26.0's story. The last I have heard from him was on April 20th. I have attempted multiple times to get ahold of him through Patreon, DeviantArt, and even e-mail and after all of those attempts, I have not received any communication from him and have to assume he has abandoned the project at this point.  I hope he is physically okay, but it has left me in an awkward predicament.

With that said, he was able to complete the first 4 sections of the story and I have a complete outline for the rest of the story. Polarisdreamer originally offered to pick back up the story, but we agreed that he will continue to work on June's storyline and I will pick up the writing for the remainder of 0.26.0's script.

Big kudos to Polarisdreamer for being as consistent and reliable as he has been. He's always quick to communicate and let me know if we need to make adjustments to things. Please provide some love to Polarisdreamer (either in the comments or even maybe over at his DeviantArt https://www.deviantart.com/polarisdreamer or his Patreon https://www.patreon.com/polarisdreamer/).

I will do my best to write the remainder of the script, but I am going to struggle this week a bit with getting much done due to commitments for my "part-time job". (Yes, I have essentially 3 jobs, a full time job, a "part-time job" - which is in quotations for a reason lol, and you lovely people!)

Anyways, here's the breakdown of version 0.26.0's progress thus far:

Story Status - 50%(ish) Complete

Coding - 50%(ish) Complete

Character Appearances - 50%(ish) Complete

Background Images/Still Renders - 20% Complete

Character Sprite Renders - 0% Complete (Not yet started)

File Compression - 0% Complete (Starts after all steps above are complete)

Fortunately, all regular posts for the rest of May are complete, so any time I have available will be dedicated towards this update. Hope you all appreciate the transparency.
