I think that for miyo this was a defining moment in her life from being nothing to herself and everyone she knew the one honest good thing that has come into her life something that she wants and believes in down playing her feelings would be like warping and tainting her happy experience. And to remember those times through this defining moment that she benefitted herself off a lie I'm sure would never leave her mind in her state. But modern we do that shit all that time so fair game.
