Mochi Moshi Dev Log #32: Public and Private Conversations
Added 2023-10-29 19:10:57 +0000 UTCIntroduction
I'd apologize for the delay but we have an extra day this month so I'm using some mental gymnastics to say that I'm right on time! Just kidding, it's been extremely rough balancing things but because I'm literally working on everything this month! Between my real job, a wedding, figuring out how Wisconsin temps work while being well over 20, etc etc... life is super busy but. Guess what I have fun doing... If you guessed "Writing about fat girls and drawing fat girls and chubby boys," then you understand where I'm at.
Weight Gaining Forums
Let me link the forum thread here if somehow you didn't come from there: Thread.
Recently I posted publicly for the first time in months about how Mochi Moshi has been progressing. No information that wasn't first posted to you guys, my paid supporters, was shared and no direct dialog was shared either. It is however, a fantastic place to contact me for questions in an open forum because it's well, a forum. I answered some questions already, and some people wanted to know about some mechanics that haven't been fully detailed. I recommend checking it out if you haven't already. If you for some reason don't like those forums, I can very much understand, then you already know the information that's already there and I recommend going back to previous Logs to freshen up.
This Month's Meeting
First week in the month my co-writer and I had our monthly scheduled meeting. We discussed how to organize our project board and we split up the remaining routes between the two of us. I only have 5 more routes to finish before I can start work on the UI/UX. Those 5 routes contain 7 "weeks" of writing left from me.
My co-writer has a larger chunk of writing to do but she's clearing it well. Her writing style is fantastic and going over what she writes is always a treat. My co-writer has 6 routes to finish. With the way she writes, it's hard to place a definitive number of how many weeks are left for her to finish. She does outlines for the whole route before tackling the writing while I do it all in sequence.
Progress
The amount of work we can quantify is exciting! We are well over half way done with the script of the game, progress is being made so fast that we'll absolutely have all of the writing done before the end of Q1 2024 and the rest of 2024 will be dedicated to cleaning up the script, designing the handling of the game and more. It might feel like this is where the game's progress very much speeds up but we've been working diligently on the game since inception and I'm glad to finally deliver some physical progress to my supporters after the script is done.
When UX prototyping is in development you'll be seeing a lot more screenshots and development logs discussing how the game should function, as well as seeing a working prototype of the game, very roughly, in motion. No time frame for anything until we get to it, but expect to see some of the game's prototyped design in full and moving sometime next year. Pieces are going to be put together and you won't get your hands on the game just yet, but I don't know how 2024 will go so get excited, we still have two months left!
Personal Report
What I've done this month was work with my co-worker to visualize what we have left, as well as split it evenly. I wrote, and finished, the LAW (Lazy Transformation, Ass Expansion, Weight Gain) route completely. Despite a 5 day vacation this month, I managed to develop a new style for chibis and Kazumi will join the cast sometime soon. November is clown month so get excited to see works done by me in that way.
Thank you
Thank you all for supporting me this month. I know that all of the information here is insanely exciting and I can finally visualize being done with the script. It's kind of insane to just write and write and it gets easier the more you do it. Again, this isn't my first visual novel, it's not my first large project, it's not my first management project, but it is the first game that I would consider having any professional development put into. You guys supporting me and making sure this game is allowed to be made is a dream come true. Even if I get about 150~ bucks a month from supporters on this project, it's super cool that I have so many fans who believe in me. The ones of you who fund me and the ones of you who just view from afar, it's incredible to be the person that I am, doing the things that I do, and having so many people behind me that I do and don't know. Thank you so much and have a wonderful rest of the month.
