Some inspiration notes and light backstory while working on this:
The idea originally was to have the head be more gooey and soft like a steamed bun, almost slightly gorey but it was so difficult to parse that I decided an egg shell like helmet would be better to rip through. Originally she was supposed to have a pained expression too, ripping it open with two hands. This felt less like her character and more like an expression piece.
The original concept comes from my almost uncharacteristic hatred of House DJs that use Mascot heads. Artists like Marshmellow and Deadmau5 have some of the worst house music I've ever heard yet have some insane popularity. I get it, some people love the genre that borders on the EDM version of Musak, and I might have a negative bias as a whole, but I work through spite and this was a fun thing to experiment with.
