Mochi Moshi Dev Log #4

Happy September everyone!! This is officially the first report of the month and boy there's a lot of good stuff rollin' on the ball!

The game's script is coming along so well and SO fast we're on track to finishing the drafts on the first "Week" of writing. By that I mean the beginning of every path's route aka the first 4th of the story! Now that might sound like a lot, and it's an incredible step for writing the voice of the project, but it factors out to being 1/16th of the main writing not including the intro and secret paths. That being said, it still is a huge milestone for starting a project. Being able to define the voice of Kazumi and the player character in writing and to balance her character is important to establish through the whole story and I believe me and my excellent co-writer did an amazing job.

I've also commissioned a main theme song for the game from the musician who so kindly gave permission to use some of their earlier works for the game. This is a song that is completely unique and made for the game itself, inspired heavily by the character that also inspired a lot of Kazumi. More information on this will come later. I have heard a sample of the song and it's coming out REALLY well.... Oh and it'll have vocals too. I'm excited.

Final note is a look into how the project is organized! Me and the writer have a shared google drive space where everything we think of is filed into each other. There's also a master script index that contains links to the entire story webbed and easy to write without crossing over each other. This is really helpful when there's 66 different story nodes needed to be written.

Now if I was smart I'd save some of this information to trickle down into you guys as the month progresses. But as production of the game ramps up, I'm confident that there'll be plenty to show you. And trust me, this ain't all of it either.
