"Bring 'em here Billy" Joe Murder said in a conversational tone, yet it filled the room. All the GravCams turned to the origin of that voice. Ever person on the other side of the stream heard it. For some the voice made their hairs stand on end and gooseflesh ripple across their skins. For some it stirred the a darkness deep inside from slumber. For some it warned that something dangerous was among them. Billy dropped Dex head back to the floor and started to slowly stand. Billy's eyes were locked on Joe Murder.
Even as the GravCams turned, to get the briefest glimpse of Joe Murder, he raised his hand in gesture and every camera froze and turn it lens skyward. All the people on the other end of the stream could see was the ceiling of the room the fight was in. Looking at the closest cam, with a thought Joe Murder pulled it toward him to hover above his right hand. He could feel the antigrav generators straining to break free. The blue black light that had been twinkling in his eyes now glowed like twin dark suns.
Joe took the cigar from his mouth and lowered the metaphysical walls inside him down a bit more between him and the world. It was time to forge his last Arch Sentinel. Power flooded his body and out into the world around him. The smoke from his cigar flared incandescent, like living flame. Joe turned to look at the GravCam that hovered above his hand and flooded it with power. The GravCam shook and screeched as unworldly energy overwhelmed it and a pillar of fire erupted from the lens pointed skyward.
Joe turned his head to look at Billy to see the boys reaction. A test. He had shown Billy small things over the years. Grooming and growing the darkness inside him for this moment, but now he was giving Billy a real view of a part of reality he had never guessed existed. Billy knew Joe Murderetti was different than any other man he had ever met. He was now seeing how different. That darkness and shadow he saw around the Boss had grown even bigger and more distinct. Billy heard a whine to his right and out of the side of his vision he saw the GravCam in the corner shake and shoot a pillar of flame upwards just like the one in the Joe Murder's hand. Then another one beside that one, then another behind him. Until all over them screamed in torture as erupted in sympathetic power.
Billy and the Monster looked up at Joe Murderetti in awe. Billy's face split into a grin and he reached down for Dex.
