The Lady in Pink
Added 2023-11-13 17:33:16 +0000 UTCHi everyone. I'm going hell-for-leather with rendering work on Chapter 5 now, so expect plenty of previews. In the top image, we can see that not everything that happens to Missy is entirely without its upside, as our girl enjoys some of Jess's... err... handiwork... Looks like she's into it anyway.
Meanwhile, I haven't talked much yet about what Abbie is up to while all this is happening to Missy. In these previews, she's off meeting a new character for this chapter. Meet Scarlett Raine, a beautiful and mysterious lady of some elegance, who is somehow involved with all of this. She can be found in Fivaviana, where she is on business for her employer, a vast corporation with ties to the ruling noble, known as the Governess.
Like Sapphory City, Fivaviana is held in a vicelike grip by the Sapphorian aristocracy, and you'll see the influence of the Governess and her vicious daughters everywhere. Scarlett has learned to navigate this precarious world and if you can get her attention, she may be able to help you find the answers you seek.
I'm progressing rapidly with Chapter 5 now, and my next task will be to get the combat overhaul done and dusted and Raquel's fight (and associated win and loss scenes) implemented. Then it'll be over to the testers. If I can have all of this done by the end of November, I'll be happy, and possibly even in a position to make a Christmas game, but the likelihood of that happening remains below 50% for the time being (to manage your expectations.) I work hard, but I'm only human!

It's the hair, I think. I don't think it's the same style, but it's close enough that it's annoying because I want her to have that sort of long, lush style but look unique. I've resigned myself to it as unavoidable. Giving her the same red lipstick probably didn't help either in retrospect.
