A look around Fivaviana

Hello all. Thank you for joining me for this week's public post. Today I'll be talking about the setting of much of Chapter 5, Sapphory's second city, Fivaviana.

The fifth chapter of the game gives us a few firsts - we already know that we'll be temporarily separated from Missy for part of it and will take control of Abbie as she does what she must to free her girlfriend. The other is that we'll finally be seeing the world beyond that tantalising gate that's been sat at the bottom of Honeypot Fields since the game first released!

Waiting until now to do this was a creative decision. Most RPGM games let you loose on the world map early on, but I wanted the player to feel the closeness of life inside the walled off Sapphory City. As with many things, it's there to remind you that in this game, you're not the mighty adventurer of legend, you're a schoolgirl, and you'd better be polite, obedient and have the right underwear on if you want to avoid punishment!

So even though you're finally getting out of the city, even that comes with some caveats. You're under 25 and so the first thing you need to do is get permission to even go outside - then you'll need to get to Fivaviana.

Once there, you'll find quite a different environment than Sapphory City (though some things are consistent across the entire country, those stockades, for example.)

Fivaviana is a bustling port-city that trades with the entire country and even with the outside world. Here you'll find shops, bars, restaurants, cafes and many women working around the port area. Trade has made this town one of the biggest and busiest in the country. It is in this sprawling and hectic environment that you must unearth clues about what is going on between Jessica and Miss Paris. Why here? Well... that'll become clear when you play it.

There's also history in this town, and you should explore every bit of it if you want to find what you're looking for!
