How about this, eh? Two posts in one week. It's almost like I'm starting to get my groove back.
One of the things I've been doing as I've gone with this update is bringing the maps I'm using up to modern standards using the lessons I've learned over the last couple of years.
Sapphory is, after all, meant to be a stunningly beautiful country, and I've tried to reflect that in the game by making every area beautifully decorated, lush and abundant with life. So let's take a look at some side-by sides, and see how I'm moving closer to bringing the vision I have of Sapphory fully to life.
In Monday's post, we had a look at the newly re-done school corridor. But how much better does it look? Let's compare it with the first version to see.

Not the same shot, but the difference is clear nevertheless. The walls have been replaced and the whole thing relit.

I remember how proud I was of Fallulah Park when I first unveiled it, and now it is perfected. Grassed, lit and with some of the earlier shortcuts filled in, it's ready for both new scenes and the eventual re-rendering of the older ones. The hazing ritual, the first scene in the game to reach a triple-figure number of images, is quite old now and will one day get its turn.

Emily's kitchen, unveiled in the February 4k pack, looks cleaner and sleeker than its earlier incarnation, and has a proper window now, rather than just a hole.

Miss Paris's classroom has also benefitted greatly from this treatment. This map has now been through about 4 different iterations before I've finally landed on one I'm happy with.

Poppy's summer house has also been retrofitted, and now our hapless heroine can be humiliated and belittled more beautifully than ever!
The work to improve the graphics is ongoing and I hope you all like the results! These lovingly-crafted maps and scenes deserve to look the very best they can, and I'm hoping that you'll notice another large step forward in the quality of the renders in 0.6.
