I realized yesterday, It's been a year since I started Patreon.
Thank you so much for supported me.
How fast. I thought It was just about few months ago.

I got a lot of patrons shortly after starting Patreon, Luckily.
But actually, looking back now, It doesn't look like I was good enough to keep that patrons.
Since that day when I reached 250 patrons, I'm keep losing my patrons continually.

My first patreon goal is 500 patrons.
For now, actually I'm a little skeptical that's possible.

I love drawing. I really do.
But I think I was able to reach 250 patrons because of pixel animation.
I also love making animations of course. But It's quite harder than drawing illustrations.
So I didn't take it very seriously to make animations.
But it seems that I have to admit it.
Whether or not I have a talent for drawing, not now.
It would be better to focus more on animation for now.

I'm not saying I'll never gonna draw illustrations or episodes,
But I'm gonna focus on making animations more than illustrations from now.
(Actually, I'm not sure this will make things better. Just trying.)

A little bit about our plans for the future is,
If I make basic motions for pixel animation,
I can make episodes with pixel animations more easily.
So I'm thinking of making a pixel animation and upload it on YouTube if it's not lewd.
Of course, lewds are only for Patreon.
So I plan to use Twitter and Patreon as well as other platforms.

I thought about poll on it, but I felt, It's too much.
I felt like I was shifting the responsibility for my Patreon to you.
I can't tell you to please keep your patronage because
I know that more people leave without a word than to express their dissatisfaction.
Only I can say is feel free to leave a comment you think.

I always thanking you. May happy days be with you.

Good point, it's important to know where your weaknesses are. It is somewhat risky, yes, especially if you don't understand each other well. πŸ€” Eagerly awaiting what you come up with next!

Thank you for long advice! :D I'm currently thinking and studing about striptease meme. And about commissions, Big money moving at once for commissions but there is a pretty high chance of problems. It's like a risky gamble for me. I think I'm not good at English, and I have a little problem talking with people directly. So I have no intention of opening commissions.

I'm giving my two cents also before the end of the month; I'm not dissatisfied with you and your art at all, monthly subscription services just make me a little anxious and I don't want to keep too many active at a time. I'm glad I got to support you for a while. You've got such unique OCs and style! I'm also seconding the earlier points, curiosity feeds engagement. Your girls are quite mysterious and I'm sure people would like to know more of them. The striptease meme is also a very good, interactive idea. Have you thought about opening commissions? That could also be a nice side income, you could easily charge a couple hundred in my opinion. Of course doing commissions of your own OCs is a touchy subject since the request might be out of character for them. πŸ€”

Oh my, Thank you so much for thinking deeply for my Patreon! "Artists that focus primarily on doing OCs would create tweets where their OC would take off an article of clothing for every X retweets." What a genius. I should consider it really seriously. It's not mean I'll never gonna draw illustrations or episodes. I'm just saying I'm gonna make pixel art more seriously. And, as you said, I always thinking about discoverability. That is what I think. And in my experience, Pixel arts made the best score about discoverability. That is why I focus at pixel art. But thank you for your advice! It really helpful for think about my patreon! :D

Some people occasionally go through their Patreon and remove the ones they feel they're getting the least value from now. This is unlike Twitter or Youtube where people rarely unsubscribe because staying subscribed has no cost. I don't think these people are dissatisfied or unhappy with your work at all, I think they're _not engaged_. Which is different. They've seen your work, probably think it's decent, but they want to reduce their spending on Patreon, so they just remove everything that they don't connect with strongly. I personally became a patron due to the illustrations and how pretty the girls were in some of them. You created an aesthetic that is specific to you. It's unique. I wanted to see more of these girls in pretty dressed, occasionally doing really lewd things. And I got what I wanted! I think if you want to have more patrons, the primary thing you should be considering is not the quality of your illustrations or animations. That is important too, but your art is plenty good already, and it's secondary to discoverability and engagement. You need to think _how_ people find your works, what motivates them to become patrons instead of normal viewers, and what keeps them subscribed. I think in this phase, discoverability is by far the most important for you. I haven't researched this kind of segment, I'm more familiar with Twitch and YouTube. But discoverability is important because you'll always be losing Patrons slowly over time, so you need new people in order to make up for that. In your case, I think Twitter is your main source of discoverability. A combination of posting full images and crops is good. I think you're already doing that? But retweets fuel popularity a lot. And you have to think which of your posts got the most retweets and why? You got to remember that when people think about retweet something, their main consideration is "Do I want other people to see this on my Twitter? Is this representative of me?". There are many things people like that they won't retweet because they don't feel it belongs on their Twitter. For example if their Twitter doesn't have porn on it, or if their Twitter focuses on specific things and the tweet but it doesn't fit their Twitter's theme. A lot of artists will boost their popularity by doing memes on Twitter, or by making fanart of popular characters that people are retweeting a lot. These things work because people are more likely to want to get other people to see them. They're "relatable". Think of when there was the Bowsette craze for example. It was easy to get retweets from that because everyone loved Bowsette and wanted to share it around. A different example of how some artists got engagement: Artists that focus primarily on doing OCs would create tweets where their OC would take off an article of clothing for every X retweets. I think that worked pretty well. Another important point is that your OCs have personality and people feel more engaged when they start understanding what's unique about each character and if they find a character _relatable_. There are a lot of sexy illustrations on the internet, but if someone likes your OCs specifically, then that sexy illustration becomes special to them. Some artists open pages where you can ask the characters questions, then characters answer and the artist tweets the response on Twitter too. You could start making occasional text posts on Twitter where you share a fact or two about characters. You don't need to put a lot of effort into them, they can be a little silly. It could be stuff such as mentioning a character's favorite food, or what class they'd be in an RPG. I'm putting some ideas out there, you might have considered or even done a lot of these. In which case, I'm sorry if it comes off as me assuming you don't know these things already. I also know it's really easy for me to make suggestions, since I'm just a viewer! Ultimately, what I mean to say is that I've seen a lot of artists not get enough attention and then they feel their art is lacking. But your art is good and there's a lot of strategizing to getting more patrons. I see you're already thinking of that and putting non-lewd animations on YouTube sounds like a good idea.

I don't know it is helpful. But animation takes time so I need my time. But unlike at the time when I was posting about once a week, I hope to post my work process about twice a week at least.

AlchRove

I became a patron because of the 210310 and 210214 specifically. It wasn't because of the pixel art exclusively, I thought they were really hot and well animated. I like the little vignette they made. You post really frequently, would it help to post less often and and give yourself time to work on more animation?

RiderRed

You deserve more patrons with the contents you create. I remembered you blew up after the pixel animations you posted on Twitter. That's when I become your patron. Maybe try to engage your Twitter followers, like describe the illustrations/animations you posted in a tweet.

koronaumbrella

Thank you for all the wonderful content. It’s always nice to see the arts you upload. I hope more people come to this patreon to enjoy the content as well
