May travel blog part 2: Seoul~

I'm back with the second part of my travel blog! i'm really slow at making these... but I hope you enjoy them anyways!

On my first afternoon, we went out around Myeongdong and found this~

This was the first time I've ever actually seen a HBAF store! I've seen their almonds pretty much every time I go to a Korean market in other places but I didn't know just big this company was. The inside was really cool, it felt like I was in an art museum.

That night I tried ganjang-gejang (간장게장) for the first time ever and it was delicious! Even in Japan, we never really eat a raw crab, so it was such a unique experience. My favorite part was the crab head with the yellow "miso", we mixed it with rice and it was so rich and yummy.

The next morning, we went to a local famous market to try out the yukhoe (육회). Sensei really liked it, and to be honest it was indeed delicious! But I got a weird tummy ache the rest of the day... I don't think my body likes raw foods.

We took a long stroll around the area and ended up walking into the castle grounds. I don't remember the name but it was really cool and I love traditional architecture.

this was the first time I ever encountered a doorway that I could bump my head on! As a tiny girl, you guys have no idea how happy this made me. For the first time in my life I felt like a regular sized person...

The next day, we did traditional korean hanbok rentals! The style was more modern but I really liked it. It was also really comfy, surprisingly.

We took photos at the biggest palace in Seoul, and I really liked the vibe. What do you guys think?

That day, we ended up walking over 8km, so I rewarded myself by getting some yummy fried chicken. It was truly one of the most delicious fried chickens I've ever had in my entire life, it was so juicy and flavorful. I knew that korean fried chicken was good but this was truly heavenly.

For my last meal in Korea, we ate at the hotel morning buffet. I saw a youtuber post about it, and it was really magical. My stomach still wasn't feeling the best from the raw foods before (I think maybe it was also just tired from traveling), but it was still a heavenly buffet.

And that was it for my first time in Korea! It was just a short 4 days in Seoul, but I really enjoyed it. I'll definitely be back... I really would like to go to Illustar Fes at some point.

Thanks for reading my travel blogs for May -- I'll be writing more for July and August when I go to America!

Love, Chizu
