I finished the big ImageShare 3.0 update! Check out the previous post about that if you haven't already.
The Spacebar
I wrote one article on The Spacebar in November: This is the perfect 'retro' Mac. Even though there hasn't been a steady stream of articles, the site is continuing to grow in web search traffic and social media followers, which has been really cool to see.
I'm also continuing to experiment with advertising on the site, especially with the experience for adblock users. When the Google AdSense ads can't be loaded, there's a new message that appears roughly where the ads would (every few paragraphs) asking the reader to follow or subscribe to the site.
I'm not tracking clicks through these links, so I have no idea if this actually accomplishes anything. My goal here is to try converting at least a few adblock readers to followers or email subscribers, in a way that a typical "turn off your adblock right now!" popup would not accomplish. If someone won't subject themselves to ads that might pay me a few cents per click, but will follow or subscribe to the site and possibly become a recurring reader, that's good with me.
