May???

Hey folks!!

Just figured I would pop in here with a bit of a lowdown because things have been a little bit insane for us this year LOL;;;

Essentially we had wanted to set up a proper buffer Now before we went on our con spree (we have Calgary Expo and TCAF quite nearly back-to-back) but between the vet bills we had to pay for one of our cats, the project we launched on Backerkit, the one we're about to launch on Kickstarter and the con prep in the meantime we've sort of tripped and fumbled on a few of our comics in the interim. Here's a bit of what to expect in the next couple weeks:

AUGUSTINE: updates will be a bit sparse, you have an update scheduled for today to end out the scene.... its a bit of a cliffhanger but when we get back OUGH;;; im really stoked to wrap up this action sequence;;;; We're looking to start rebuilding our buffer by the end of May to come back in June! (You folks will be getting the pages as we finish them though)! I can't make any promises for when that will be, the two of us are a bit spent so we're going to try and reboot our artist brains to come back strong in June with the end of this chapter (we're just about halfway!!)
Speaking of: Backerkit has invited us to do Comictopia in July with them! We haven't gotten the confirmation as to whether or not we're in but we'd like to test a comic project with them (in this case it would be to help print Augustine Chapter 2). We were originally only going to do campaigns for the collected 1st half of the comic (after chapter 3) and the collected 2nd half but it might be nice to have a campaign help us with spreading the word about Augustine! Either way, more updates on that later!

PAINT THE TOWN RED: The second we get back from conventions my brain is ALLLL about this. I'm gonna go over the outline for Volume 4 and pick at it/extend it. And then jump all-in on scripting it so we can have a proper campaign for it next year (2025).

THE SANITY CIRCUS: It's ending this year, on or around its birthday in May. Tas has decided to post the script for the ending of the comic since that's done and move on from it. We're still deciding whether that would be easier as a PDF or if they want to post it to the website with a bit of formatting. We're leaning on turning it into a PDF for easier readability. Either way, we know it's going to be a bit of a bummer for some, but I've read the script and its honestly absolutely killer. The reason Tas has decided to go this route (after a LOT of agonising I promise you) is just, its a 10 year old comic they started at 19. There are a few things they'd like to tweak/change/fix but the project is so big right now there's not much room for wiggle. I don't want to spend too much time trying to explain it for them, Tas will have one with the update post (or at least their thoughts on it a little bit later). We're both just glad to be able to give it an ending even if it is just the script.
We've been musing at a re-hash reboot of the thing with some overhauls but that's not for any time soon & likely gonna be a pitch for publishers so it'll look extremely different. I'm hoping to create a print or PDF collected edition for the comic as-is script & all so that I can also build an artbook of all (or as many as we can track down) the artwork Tas doodled for it! There are still plans to give this story a proper send-off. <3

LAB PARTNERS: I haven't talked too much about this one but we have been working on our funky little mad-scientist romp for the NSFW tier. We've been scrambling on our other projects so this one fell to the wayside too, but the whole thing is scripted, most of it is thumbnailed and we're chipping away at sketches and Inks.

THE CURSE OF BLACKWOOD MANOR: This is Tas' new graphic novel with the contract they have with Penguin. Our plan is to get back, have them finish the script re-draft while we wrap up Augustine Chapter 2 before they get the OK to start on the artwork for the graphic novel. Once we're working on this err.... its hard to work on anything else comic-wise so we're hoping to get this done this year and be free of the contract/get paid and be back on top of our usual things/on submission again while we get our other projects moving along.

MOBY DY--FROM HELL'S HEART: Picking picking picking. Folks are really enjoying sending us asks about this group of babes over on tumblr so maybe later/when we get back I'll make a bit of a post with all of the artwork we've been doing about 'em. And if you want to add to the pile of questions/asks about the story you can too~!

THE FAREWELL TOUR: My beloved......... back on the back-burner.... we'll be back for you....

I THINK that's it for now. Thank you all for sticking around the way you have, especially through our awkward months. We have a whole lot cookin' on our end so sometimes we drop the ball but we're managing our schedules better than we used to~!

(but hey if anyone's going to: Calgary Comics Expo, TCAF (Toronto Comic Arts Festival) or MCAF (Montreal Comic Arts Festival) pls stop by our table and say hey~!

Thanks everyone!
