JAX! aka BUZZKILL (the Farewell Tour)
Added 2023-11-07 15:50:55 +0000 UTCY'know what? Now's a good a time as any to talk to you all about the characters for this graphic novel! Here's a bunch of images, pretty much ordered from most to least relevant to the story itself. JAX was a Starfinder character of mine for a game that ended this year and I just kind of fell in love with his character so much and the dynamic between him & Tas' character Raddley we just couldn't let them go.
Some of these doodles are from his tabletop campaign design (especially the latter 3). His design in this story is going to hit a little bit more glam-metal so I'll be sitting down these next few months to design him a proper ref-sheet & his attire throughout the story!
LONG STORY SHORT
Jax is an alien based on bumble bees. He was originally from a colony planet with a very strict way of living. He escaped that life and planet-hopped as a busker & lowlife grunge guitarist before he was offered a bogus contract to become his own lead singer/guitarist glam-metal star! Of course he signed that bad boy with stars in his eyes. Now? He's trying to get the fuck out of that life. The money, the glam the babes, its all fantastic on the outside, but it gets to be real suffocating when you realise you haven't read the fine print and now the Company owns you and people no longer really see you as a person.
So that's his character's drive throughout the story~! We're still fleshing out names (like what exactly his species is called and whatnot). A lot of the backstory is sorted but I can't delve too far into it without spoiling key points of the story!
