Added 2021-03-12 19:44:37 +0000 UTCDad got his surgery a couple days ago. They removed a lot of the necrotic tissue from his pancreas and quite a bit that died off. They were trying to let the body heal on it's own before any invasive surgery but they had to intervene to try and stave off the infections as it wasn't fully healing but the good thing is he's through surgery and the doctors said he is doing really good all things considered. He sat up, got up for some physio and they were really impressed with how much strength he has (he's always been pretty stubborn haha) and Mom said he is looking good so far. Still stuck with a breathing tube and all that to make sure he gets enough oxygen to heal and such but I'm over the moon that he made it out of surgery alright. It'll be a long road ahead from here on out, and has been one of the longest months of our lives with all that's been going on with the family.
His pancreas needs a lot of healing, and hopefully some tissue will grow back but we're all thankful he's with us today. I'm saddened I can't visit due to public health guidelines and traveling restrictions but Mom's been by his side the whole time so I know between her, the specialists, nurses, and doctors he's in good hands.
Hopefully I can get back to art soon. I have so much to catch up on, and the little break was much needed and I'm so thankful for the messages from you guys, you're all so supportive and understanding. β€οΈ
Just wanted to let you guys know how things were going on my end since I said I would keep you guys informed. Thanks so much everyone and send the goodest of vibes you can for his recovery! It'll be a while, but I feel that we're coming out of the deep end now. Fingers crossed!

I'm glad to hear he's doing better. I recently had to deal with my brother in the hospital & going through surgery and not being able to see him (he's better now and healing at home). Here's hoping for a speedy recovery and you'll be able to see him again.
