Life-y stuff.

I'm not entirely sure what the best way to go about this is, but Dad's been diagnosed with a severe case of pancreatitis and has been hospitalized for, I wanna say 35-40 days I lost track. It's been a pretty big whirlwind of emotions, not knowing what the outcome will be or when he'll start showing signs of getting better, they're pretty small so far. Mom's been by his bedside since he was rushed in late January, and recently he was admitted to the ICU for proper care by a specialist. It was just such a sudden and serious thing to come out of nowheres it took us all by storm.

Needless to say, I'm still trying to get through everything art wise and keep Patreon going as best as I can. Not to mention keeping my mental health intact, even though just thinking about it knocks the wind out of me.

Thankfully we did set up a gofundme for Mom and the support from everyone here at home and around us has been wonderful, truly amazing to see everyone pull together on their behalf. I just worry about them constantly  so it's been pretty taxing on me, some days art just won't come out right with so much going on... Figuring out ways to take the mind off such things to keep myself productive and combat the underlying anxiety.

He is making very small improvements after some setbacks, but it will be a really slow recovery, and I'm hoping he turns around soon. Dad just turned 50 and has so much life left to live for, I'm hoping with all of my heart he makes it. I'll be sure to keep you guys updated on it as well if anything major happens. Just so you know where I'm at and what's going on in my life.

Send over some good vibes and fingers crossed he fights this. And as always (at the risk of sounding like a broken record haha...) thank your for your continued support, everyone. It means so much. ❤

Oh my gosh, that's so sorry to hear that about your father. You and your mother are such troopers, and you're right, at 50 you have sooo much more life to live and I'm hoping your father has a speeding recovery. And please don't worry too much about Pateron, you are going through too much; don't push yourself. If you need a break, take a break; your health matters. So I'm crossing all my fingers for your father, your mother, you and your family!

Having a family member go through a medical emergency is an unbelievably taxing event, but it's often very difficult for people outside of the family to fully grasp what you're going through. A few months ago my grandfather had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital, but while he was there he contracted COVID and it wound up spreading to my grandmother as well. She's had her highs and lows, but is recovering slowly - my granddad wasn't so lucky. We lost him January 19th and since then everything has been different; it's hard to focus, sleep isn't restful, and my mood's been generally very low all the time. The point I wanted to make is that these things are always very difficult to cope with, but many of us understand. You should spend the time you can with your mom and dad, whether it's face to face, or by Zoom if you're social distancing, or even just a text or an email. If taking the time for your family or your own mental health means that your art production suffers, then that's what needs to happen. You have my sincerest condolences and I hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Sorry to hear this is happening to your family and I hope your dad pulls through and recovers quickly!! It’s understandable if you need to take a break from things to be with your family during these times. Though I understand looking for something to distract yourself from negative thoughts. If there’s anything I can do let me know. Also do be afraid to drop a link to the GoFundMe, I’m sure there are some here who wouldn’t mind lending some support.

All the hugs dude <3 Whatever you need from us on our end, let us know! ALL THE GOOD VIBES TOO <3 I hope you find something silly and joyful to take your mind off things. Actually, have you watched Rise of the TMNT? That is some quality distraction if you're looking for something, and feels like it'd be right in your wheelhouse. If you want to talk about it, or very specifically don't, my DM's always open. Take care buddy. -C

Hey, this must an unimaginably stressful thing that you’re going through. As your dad heals it can be painful to witness him suffering at all. I really hope that you and your family are coping with this as well as you possibly can, and that your mental health stays intact. Please be well and take care.

ALL THE BEAR HUGS! <3

I'm really sorry about your dad and hope he makes it out ok. If he's making recoveries, albeit small ones, I have hope he'll push through eventually and be ok.
